We use the electricity we generate directly for our business operations and feed any surplus into the power grid. In 2025, we will almost double the output of our PV systems. We have numerous charging stations and additional outdoor sockets for our electric cars. I like this as a prototype concept. However, I struggle to see this gaining too much traction. Because, carrying this on top of the vehicle everywhere will reduce normal range and the charge speed is limited to only 30 miles per day in optimal conditions. That level of charging can be achieved in a couple of minuites at a rapid charging station. For example, Tesla super chargers can achieve 75 miles of range in 5 mins on a Tesla Model 3 in optimal conditions (ref: https://lnkd.in/dgNg6hPD). Maybe if you are planning an expedition in the desert, this would be a good emergency backup plan. For urban and suburban use, I would rather see more roadside fixed solar panels that can directly supply roadside rapid chargers or traffic light road embedded induction rapid chargers when you are waiting. Along with more fixed point normal chargers in car parks and fixed to roadside lamp posts.
