This is a great summary about the potential impact of generative AI in healthcare: https://lnkd.in/g-D6xCRP However, there's a point I find myself partially in disagreement with: The concern about AI introducing more bias. Current data highlight a significant disparity in clinical trials, where 75% of participants are white, underscoring the underrepresentation of minorities (https://lnkd.in/g3nDcDYq). Additionally, the United States leads globally in the number of clinical trials conducted (https://lnkd.in/gNxyfQsc). I anticipate their will actually be less biais with generative AI than what we have today. We find it less acceptable for a machine to be biais than for a human like we find it less acceptable in our society for a self driving car to crash compared to human driver. #ai #healthcare #genai #biais

AI is such a buzz term lately, so I like this article that helps guide us towards a critical, more constructive approach when evaluating an AI solution

Despite all the recent advances, at its core AI is pattern-matching technology. The efficacy and safety of these systems is dependent on the quality of the examples used to "teach" the underlying models. And here's one guarantee. These models will be wrong some amount of the time. When it comes to heavily regulated industries, it's critical to design workflows that take into consideration the likelihood of a model failing and appropriately integrate humans in the loop.
