We have so many award lists reserved for people 𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥 20, 30, and 40. That's cool and all, but how about we push for some new standalone recognitions from the likes of PRWeek, Forbes, Fast Company, TechCrunch, etc., dedicated to (wait for it) people 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥 40, 50, 60? Let's call it the "Wisdom Winners" or "Wisdom 50 over 50", you get the idea. Major bonus points if the people selected were relative late bloomers or second actors who hit their stride well after the typical prodigies. People like Morgan Freeman, Rose Blumkin, Bernie Marcus, Ray Kroc, Henry Ford, Martha Stewart, Toni Morrison, Lucille Ball, the list goes on and on. The more resilience, the higher the ranking. I would love to delve into this type of award list, would you?

A couple of weeks ago I squared up on my self employed personal income tax for the June 15th deadline, hopefully for the last time. If you are an investment advisor in Canada and you feel like I do; it’s time we are permitted to incorporate our practices. I encourage you to talk to your dealer. See what they are doing to make this happen. #taxplanner #wealthmanagement

Creative Director @ Bettermade Design | Get clear, consistent branding that boosts recognition and drives growth. Your SaaS Brand, Bettermade.
Small but mighty: why we enter awards no matter the size. ↓ Are you hesitant to submit your work for awards because you think they are only for the big players? Think again. Even if it's a local or small-scale competition, entering awards can be a game-changer for your business. Not only can it boost your brand's visibility and credibility. But it can also help you stand out from the competition. It's a chance to celebrate your hard work. And to showcase your talents to a wider audience. Let me tell you about my amazing business partner, Jolene Chang. She's the definition of humble and never boasts about her wins. But I just have to give her a shoutout! Jolene, girl, you're the brains behind our operation. And your hard work has really paid off. Couldn't have done it without you! *sniff* Keep inspiring us all! 💪🌟 Don't let the size of the award intimidate you. See how even the smallest award can make a big difference. P.S. Have you ever thought about the impact of awards on your small business? Check out our interview: https://lnkd.in/gnABUk5c

Just wrapped up judging #ANAReggies. Whenever I judge awards like this, I am always blown away by the creativity our industry brings to the world. It's also a great reminder to anyone submitting an award: 🏆 Results matter. Clearly spell out what you set out to accomplish and whether or not you met your objective. Go further than reach and impressions - what was the impact on sales and brand? 💡 Insights --> ideas. A cool idea for the sake of a cool idea won't cut it. Articulate the strategy that led to the program. 👀 Eye candy helps. Make sure the written submission hooks the reader but don't forget the supporting materials. That really helps bring the entry to life.

🙏 Thank you Phil Jones for inviting me to be part of your judging team for the The Drum Awards: Digital Industries. Did I have the time? Yes. 🤔 For people who may not have judged awards before, here are a few reasons to serve as a judge: 1. You will meet great people, learn from other judges, and expand your network 2. You will review diverse work and learn what work stands out and why 3. You will contribute to the advancement of our industry and help people learn what good looks like. 🏅 It is good practice to study what work wins awards. It helps set the standard we aspire towards. Plus you are not typically excluded from entering your own work (as long as it is in a different category!). 🎉 So thanks to Phil and the Drum and all the other folks I've judged with over the years (Wirehive / Pax8 and ARCET Global to name but a few) plus some of the amazing fellow judges I've met including the phenomenal Kerensa Jennings and Charlotte Hillenbrand. Awards are important. Recognition and appreciation helps motivate us to strive towards excellence. I look forward to serving with my fellow judges including Chris Mellish and Kate Dale and meeting new colleagues. The deadline has been extended til 6 September, so please consider entering. 👉 Enter here: https://lnkd.in/g5RU2rAW When the opportunity arises to be a judge, do it! #awards #recognition #achievement #excellence #digitalinnovation

Our industry hands out a lot of awards. It's a thing. Part validation. Part measuring stick. We mostly use it for the latter, TBH. How's our work stack up? Is it worth the effort we put into it? And importantly, does it matter or make a difference? We recently won the top honor in two Shorty Impact Awards categories. And here's why these matter more than some: "The Shorty Impact Awards is an international awards program dedicated to honoring the most purposeful and impactful work organizations are doing to make the world a better place. This includes work on social and digital media to raise awareness for a cause, as well as offline work done internally or externally to advance our society." Making the world a better place, advancing our society. Hmmm. Not sure there's a better reason to receive an award.

It's an honor for us to be recognized among many working to do so much. Here are a few quotes of why, together, we are better. "For a community to be whole and healthy, it must be based on people's love and concern for each other." – Millard Fuller. "One of the most important things you can do on this earth is to let people know they are not alone." – Shannon L. Alder. "In our community, we have a duty to strengthen the weakest among us to build a better society." – Bill Courtney. Vision: Create vibrant, relevant, sustainable rural communities. Mission - Deliver first-in-class- innovations and solutions where others won't.
We are thrilled to be nominated for the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber's Economic Impact Award.
