Worth sharing that #SmarCity is not about teechnology and tools rather a #people centered approach that includes #governance #humanrights #accessibility and #literacy. Even if you ensure above 90% of #digital access, it not sure that all are at ease in digital society. It is about #nooneleftbehind including #aging people, and #engagement of people for continuously test, trial and suceed. At #WSIS2024 #Bangladesh shared it experience how instituting #governance has doubled its revenue in #DhakaSouthCityCorporation without increasing any #tax. While synergy between Central Government and Local Government was outlined as critical to implement the actions of smart city, the speakers outlined how boldness of #localGoverment leaders can emerge effective in implementing #sustainable actions and bridging gaps. see full discussion in the link :

Association of University Research Parks (AURP) proudly stands as a member of the Bayh-Dole Coalition, a pivotal entity in advancing the university tech transfer industry since the enactment of the Bayh-Dole Act in 1980. This legislation has catalyzed the development of research parks and innovation districts in the U.S., fostering the creation of numerous technologies for a better world. Notably, the Act's primary focus has never been to regulate the pricing of products resulting from federal funding, including drugs and other innovations developed by universities and small businesses. In addition to its participation in the Coalition, AURP has shared insights on safeguarding SBIR/STTR companies from potential government interventions regarding march-in rights. I share a link to the interesting "Capacity LAB on #Integration", which took place yesterday in MONS, Belgium. A meeting held in the framework of the EUROPEAN SUMMIT of REGIONS and CITIES, where among other EU priorities, actors from different European regions reflected on how to build #inclusive #communities. Once again, those present placed #education and #employment at the heart of #integration and raised #accesstohousing or #housincrisis as a major challenge for the EU across Europe.
