Coeur Silvertip’s Community Relations Manager had the privilege of attending the grand opening of the Daylu Dena Council’s Cultural Center in Lower Post, British Columbia. The multi-purpose building developed as part of the transformation of the area once occupied by a Residential School marks a milestone in the Kaska people and the local community's journey towards healing and reconciliation. Chiefs, dignitaries, esteemed Elders and community leaders joined community members in the celebration.

Often I am asked, why I love local government and while there are too many reasons to list, always near the top is placemaking and community development. It's amazing what we all can do when we embrace what makes us all unique and work together towards common goals. #publicadministration #LocalGov #placemaking #publicprivatepartnership #communitydevelopment #leadership

Asset-based community development - think about it. When the asset is the people in the community, there is no more sure investment. The returns are huge. Nolu knows that. Nolu is both a beneficiary and an investor.
Championing Community Development the ABCD Way. Our partner Planact South Africa has produced a series of five videos showcasing the inspirational work of five women #Asivikelane Community Facilitators working in Johannesburg. They have recently graduated from the University of Johannesburg with a certificate in Community Development and Leadership. They learned about the Asset Based Community Development Methodolody (ABCD) and are putting what they learned into practice back home. From creating vegetable gardens to cooking lessons for children, to championing for better service delivery, these five women are making a real impact in their communities.
