This innovative train journey, taking only 22 to 23 days, starts from Xi’an, China, and includes a comprehensive transit plan encompassing road and ferry transfers across Europe to reach Tilbury, UK. This new transit option reduces overall shipping times from Shanghai to the UK to about 22-23 days, offering a substantial improvement over the usual 40-50 days by sea. Please note that there are specific restrictions and requirements concerning the types of cargo eligible for this route, including limitations on weight, dimensions, and the nature of goods. Port Laredo, in Texas, was the nation's busiest gateway for 15 straight months. In July, the Port of LA regained the top spot, handling $30B in trade compared to $28.3B at Laredo. Yet, Mexico remains the top trade partner, so LA's lead may simply be a peak-season boost thanks to many goods from Asia arriving earlier that usual. Whatever the case, volume at the nation's top three ports were all up considerably. LA in July increased 24% YoY; Laredo was up 9% YoY; and Chicago O'Hare International Airport was up 16% YoY. That should translate into more freight to haul for truckload and LTL carriers as well as intermodal. https://lnkd.in/eAU5S-vh #freight #shipping #trucking #intermodal #trade #la #laredo #chicago #businessnews

The cascading of smaller box ships to more-lucrative long-haul lanes has created a shortage of vessels for intra-Asia trades. “As the number of ships being deployed on ocean-going routes increases, concerns are being raised about a shortage of ships on some routes within Asia. We ask domestic shipping companies to prepare in advance to support local shippers.” Martina Li reports. #containershipping #supplychain #logistics #seafreight #oceanfreight #freight #shipping #oceanshipping #asia #trade https://lnkd.in/euJ329QM

Exploring the World of Multimodal Transport in Freight Forwarding! 🌍🚢🚆🚛✈️ In the world of international freight forwarding, one of the most efficient methods of shipping is Multimodal Transport. This involves using two or more different modes of transportation, such as sea, air, road, or rail, to move goods from origin to destination. For instance, a shipment from Vietnam to the United States might start with ocean freight to the Port of Los Angeles, followed by rail or truck transport to inland cities. This approach not only optimizes routes but also reduces transit times and costs. Multimodal transport is becoming increasingly popular in international trade, especially with complex global supply chains. By leveraging this method, companies can manage logistics more efficiently and enhance their competitiveness. Have you experienced using multimodal transport? Shortage of vessels running for Intra Asia trade , will definitely have an impact to the inbound cargo into Asia (From West/Americas) which need to connect to non-main port destination via feeder service at main TS port Shipment might idling at TS port (MYPKG/SGSIN) for 1-2 weeks or more waiting for the next feeder vessel .
