The involvement of academic centers in drug discovery continues to grow. However, academic projects rarely progress to the clinical trial phase due to the high cost of conducting them. This environment represents the optimal ecosystem for combining basic research and drug discovery, as it offers a unique environment for multidisciplinary collaboration to translate promising results into valuable drug discovery programs. In this context, falsifiability serves a key gatekeeper function, enabling the abandonment of ineffective ideas while paving the way for potential technological breakthroughs. As a CADD scientist and someone deeply passionate about Computer-Aided Drug Design, I’m dedicated to sharing valuable information and comparisons on key techniques used in the field.
