So glad to be a small part of this program. It is innovative in so many ways. I think the key is recognizing that Open APIs and Open Standards with smart engineering oversight allow a diverse but unified ecosystem of tools to be used in many programs at a much lower total cost.
So often in our industry engineers work to reinvent the wheel and then build the whole car to fit their custom wheel; Someone invents some small interoperability component and then sells a need to build the rest of the system because of some custom glue that no one else uses. Gladiator rejected this and really took best of breed systems built on proven technology from multiple vendors that were OPEN and made something greater than any one part. It certainly has been impressive.
Open APIs and Open Standards work.

At OPCON, we are revolutionizing military training procurement through our innovative Training as a Service (TaaS) model. Leveraging our own advanced technology, we provide support with realistic, high-quality training experiences using our proprietary explosive blast simulators. Unlike traditional training methods, our non-pyrotechnic, gas-operated simulators can emulate a wide range of explosive scenarios without the safety risks associated with live explosives. This not only enhances safety but also allows for more frequent and diverse training sessions.
Our TaaS model offers several key benefits to the military:
-Cost Efficiency: By providing equipment and expertise as a service, we reduce the need for significant capital investment in training infrastructure.
-Realism and Relevance: Our simulators are designed based on real-world feedback and current events, ensuring that training scenarios are relevant and challenging.
-Flexibility and Scalability: Our TaaS model can be easily scaled to meet the changing needs of military units, allowing for customized training solutions that can be adjusted as new threats emerge.

Unfortunately there is literally 0 amount of stress inoculation you can do that will ever mimic combat. The sight and sounds you can maybe get close. But non of that will ever match the actual fear of death. The actual scenario of someone at the other end of a barrel who is actively trying to shoot to kill you, the actual screams of your brothers as they lay on the battlefield. Even if you could recreate that, which you can't, there is nothing to say that the training it self wouldn't be causing PTSD at some level. You can train someone to operate in an environment, how they handle that stress off the X is a totally different skill.
Not to mention everyone handles stress differently. For some, there is no amount of training that will be enough to handle the real life scenario of combat.
This type of training has been around for decades and I can tell you first hand, it's cool and there is some extra real world scenario feeling to the training, but it will never be the thing that changes someone fight or flight response.
So if you are attending training like this to get some extra reps in with a slightly more realistic feel and look to the environment like a movie set, then great. But do not think for a second that this will make you any more ready for combat mentally or that your people will somehow not have PTSD after real time in combat.
I'd venture to say that if you didn't have PTSD at some level, you probably are not a normal rational sane human being. Combat is not something we as humans are meant to go through. It's not something that 99.9 percent of humans even experience.
Our TRAIN R.E.A.L. concept revolutionizes #stressinoculation#training by creating ultra-realistic scenarios. We expose #military and #lawenforcement trainees to high-stress situations in a controlled environment. This exposure helps trainees adapt to stress, improving their performance in real-world situations and can reduce the risk of #PTSD according to various studies.
Our unique approach, backed by our extensive experience in the film industry, ensures a level of realism unmatched in conventional training.

Expanding on previous post!
There has been an expansive amount of work to modernize and make relevant our live-fly training ranges for combat training. I feel it is reasonable to say those efforts have fallen short of standard because it’s an impossible endeavor to truly mimic the realities of the first quarter of 21st century combat and build for the next 3 quarters. The efforts are not unappreciated or invalid, but emission systems modeling threats, airspace and resources not being available are the reasons a focus should be shifted back towards fundamental skills. It’s routine to get a “back to basics” Special Interest Item every year that is commonly scoffed, what if that applied to our training plans as well? Ridge "KELSO" Flick thoughts?
