World Metrology Day is celebrated annually on May 20th to commemorate the signing of the Metre Convention on May 20, 1875. This convention established a worldwide framework for collaboration in the science of measurement and in the development of the International System of Units (SI). The day aims to raise awareness about the importance of metrology, the science of measurement, in various aspects of our daily lives, including trade, industry, and health. Each year, World Metrology Day has a specific theme to highlight different areas where metrology plays a critical role. The event is organized by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) and the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML), which work together to promote global metrological standards. Metrology is crucial for ensuring accuracy and consistency in measurements, which supports scientific research, industrial innovation, and the functioning of economies.

Just published, our extended paper on controlling magnon modes in different artificial spin-ice lattices. Here the individual nano-magnets in the lattice are actually ferromagnet/non-magnet/ferromagnet thin-film trilayers, where layer thicknesses gives us additional control to tune to magnon modes beyond the magnetostatic interactions between the nano-magnets in these complex systems. Many thanks to my colleagues Julius de Rojas and Adekunle Adeyeye. The paper is open access: https://lnkd.in/eCiK5BWT

Director of AI Initiatives | AI & Materials Chemistry Expert | Grant Writer | Project Manager | Renewable Energy & Organic Photovoltaics Researcher
Thrilled to announce our latest paper, "Directional exciton diffusion, measured by subpicosecond transient absorption as an explanation for squaraine solar cell performance," now published in the Journal of Physical Chemistry C! 🎉 This marks another successful collaboration between chemists & microsystems engineers at RIT and UR, uniting the Collison Group with the McCamant Group. A special shoutout to Tyler Wiegand, as this is the last paper we wrote with him before his graduation. Dive into our research at https://bit.ly/3wUMtmC
