2024 Dallas County Inland Port Symposium is here. Learn more about the tremendous impact that the inland port has on DFW and industry.
Inland port development is a key strategy to extend the operations and future growth of a port franchise: when effectively engaged with local communities, inland ports offer the opportunity to expand capacity and operations, coordinate development, conserve open space, minimize costs and improve service to customers. At the 2024 Dallas County Inland Port Symposium on Friday, April 19, Stephanie Finch, AICP, a WSP freight planner, will discuss how inland ports are strategic mechanisms for ports all over the world to absorb demand and increase freight velocity, provide opportunities for employment growth and training, while effectively sustaining the same maritime coastal footprint. We are committed to creating a brighter future for Texas, and together, we can accomplish remarkable things now and tomorrow. Promoter and Designer of State-of-the-Art Transportation Systems that Maximize Passenger Throughput while Stimulating Economies and Preserving the Environment
https://lnkd.in/g5M9zZkE This is a friendly reminder to watch the February 2, 2012 Board Meeting. Pay especially close attention to Chairman Dan Richard's opening speech. Also, pay especially close attention to the public comment that follows. Yes the project has had numerous challenges, but it's doing something great. It's putting people to work. During public comment, you will see just how much people were hurting for jobs. California was in a deep recession. Sacramento was in an extremely deep recession with no construction cranes in downtown between 2008 and 2015. The bottom line is that this project has put many people to work. #highspeedrail #infrastructure #asce #ite #trafficengineering
