At the end of a recent three-month engagement, employees were presented with options that reduced the excessive workload while at the same time, guaranteeing them regular long weekend breaks. The high OT level was in fact the greatest hurdle to change. While many employees openly complained about overtime, there was real fear that any change would reduce their personal earnings that they had become accustomed to. The new schedule options improved predictability, so people could plan ahead for days off. At the same time, the new schedules provide flexibility to work overtime for those that were interested in doing so. Approximately 50% of the employees chose to work an alternative schedule, and the rest chose to remain where they are at. Based on our experience, some of those unwilling to try something new are likely to change their mind once they see the new schedule in operation. In the end, CCG will be able to help our client give their people schedules that better match their work/life balance with increased predictability and flexibility. #schedules #HR #workforcemanagement #humanresources #highovertime #worklifebalance #capacityutilization

🚨 19m hours of free overtime? 🚨 Shocking statistics highlight a UK work culture crisis! A recent study by Protime UK has found a staggering 54 percent of UK employees report working between half a day and four days of unpaid overtime each month, amounting to 19 million days of uncompensated labour annually. The findings also indicate that one in five employees plans to leave their current job within the next six months to escape the pressures of overwork. Additionally, nearly half (49%) refuse to take on extra work, and 42 percent avoid pursuing management responsibilities due to the same issue. Hybrid workers are also found to be more vulnerable with 33 percent of employees being more likely to work additional unpaid hours when working from home. It's a ticking time bomb that needs defusing. Respecting employee time, ensuring fair workload distribution, and nurturing a healthy balance isn't just nice - it's essential. It's time for businesses to steer away from the brink and toward an environment that values its workforce. Does this resonate with your experience? Let's discuss strategies for change! 💬 #WorkCulture #EmployeeWellbeing #Productivity

Delivering the greatest individuals to businesses all over the world that are looking for the best professionals so they may accomplish their objectives. Let's make it easy for you to find best IT & Non IT professionals
Dear companies, Don't give employees so much work that unpaid overtime becomes normalized. It's funny how expectations have shifted over the years. Once upon a time, working late was a rare exception 🤣 But now, I'd love to see anyone thrive under the weight of endless overtime. The narrative needs to change. NOW - Work-life balance should be prioritised - Productivity shouldn’t mean burning out - Success should include time for personal life The more I see this issue, the more committed I am to breaking this unhealthy cycle. I’m determined to advocate for healthier work environments. Cheers to those who value their employees' time and well-being. And to all the companies fostering a culture of respect and balance. I’m proud to support a better way forward. #employees. #unpaidovertime #environments

Are you noticing symptoms of burnout in your team from too much overtime? While overtime is a helpful tool in maintaining appropriate caregiver ratios for the department, excessive hours for individuals can lead to burnout and dissatisfaction. It's crucial to differentiate staff required to work OT to help the department succeed and staff members who prefer to be over-committed by choice. Remember, over-commitment occurs when team members consistently exceed their scheduled hours - such as a 0.9 RN regularly working four 12 hour shifts per week instead of three. Educating yourself about team member commitment WILL reduce avoidable premium pay and promote engagement within your team! #StaffingStrategies #AvoidingBurnout #TeamCommitment

Food for thought! Can you call yourself a people company if your people are working over 40hours a week? Their personal time for your profit is not focused on them. professional goals etc should be attainable during your work hours. personal time is just that. questions at this point. where is the owner/CEO? if not there why are you? enough said when working unpaid overtime. Truly happy people build long term, committed and hard working people, with experience which is invaluable. this is why it matters to the business.

To foster a work-life balance, start by helping your team prioritize tasks effectively. Encourage them to distinguish between what is urgent and what is important, and to tackle high-priority tasks first. This approach reduces the need for overtime and minimizes stress, as employees feel more in control of their workload. As a project manager, provide clear deadlines and expectations, and ensure your team has the resources they need to succeed without sacrificing their personal time.

Earlier this week, Protime UK released their study on unpaid overtime. Some findings that stood out to me..: -One in five employees plans to leave their current job within the next six months to escape the pressures of overwork -42% avoid pursuing management responsibilities due to the same issue -Hybrid Workers are more vulnerable: 33% of employees are more likely to work additional unpaid hours when working from home -Unrealistic Workloads: 28% of respondents report being unable to complete their job within regular working hours, leading to extended workdays -Inadequate Managerial Support: 27% of employees believe managers should ensure work is more evenly distributed, while 20% find the work delegated to them unrealistic given the available time The research is based on a survey of 2,000 workers. I think it can be tempting to put in unpaid overtime in today's job market where there's a lot of uncertainty, and high level of competition for available roles. But employers should really consider the negative impacts of employees putting in a lot of overtime - Protime's research indicates that it's actually detrimental to business performance, and more importantly, to the employees overall health and job satisfaction. #overtime #jobs #jobmarket
