Coleman Consulting Group, LLC’s Post

At the end of a recent three-month engagement, employees were presented with options that reduced the excessive workload while at the same time, guaranteeing them regular long weekend breaks. The high OT level was in fact the greatest hurdle to change. While many employees openly complained about overtime, there was real fear that any change would reduce their personal earnings that they had become accustomed to. The new schedule options improved predictability, so people could plan ahead for days off. At the same time, the new schedules provide flexibility to work overtime for those that were interested in doing so. Approximately 50% of the employees chose to work an alternative schedule, and the rest chose to remain where they are at. Based on our experience, some of those unwilling to try something new are likely to change their mind once they see the new schedule in operation. In the end, CCG will be able to help our client give their people schedules that better match their work/life balance with increased predictability and flexibility. #schedules #HR #workforcemanagement #humanresources #highovertime #worklifebalance #capacityutilization
