The Eve Appeal is the leading UK national charity funding research and raising awareness into the five gynaecological cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal. We were set up to prevent gynaecological cancers and save lives by funding ground-breaking research focused on developing effective methods of risk prediction, earlier detection and developing screening for all of the five gynae cancers. We have played a crucial role in providing seed funding, core infrastructure funding and project funding in addition to campaigning to raise awareness. The world-leading research that we fund is ambitious and challenging but our vision is simple: A future where gynaecological cancers are a disease of the past.

In the last three decades, we've witnessed an alarming 80% increase in cancer rates among individuals under 50. This isn't just a health crisis; it's a clarion call for immediate, collective action. As we commemorate our 5th year with the "Cardio Vs Cancer" campaign,our commitment is stronger than ever. Linear Engineering will be gathering together at 10:30am on Thursday 23rd of May for a Tea-riffic cause! 🍰 🙌 https://lnkd.in/dWHX2FyG Together we can help Cancer Council Australia raise much needed funds that go towards vital cancer research, support services, prevention programs, and advocacy. 💛 Thanks to funds raised through Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, last year Cancer Council Australia were able to:  - Give over 38,000 people impacted by cancer practical and emotional support via our 13 11 20 Information and Support service  - Provide 102,922 nights of subsidised accommodation to cancer patients going through treatment  - Transport over 32,000 people with cancer and their carers to treatment  - Support people affected by cancer with almost $2million worth of free legal and financial advice  - Distribute over 727,000 free information booklets to better help Australians understand cancer. #linearengineering #cancercouncil #Australiasbiggestmorningtea #fundraiser

A massive well done to everyone today, a huge team effort! Group First took part in Football Shirt Friday, raising money to help the fight against Bowel Cancer. Bobby Moore sadly passed away at the age of 51 after a battle with Bowel Cancer. Since his death, the Bobby Moore Fund has raised over £30 Million and has seen a 30% decrease in mortality rates for people with Bowel Cancer. However, bowel cancer is the second most common cause of #cancer death in the UK and there are around 43,000 new #bowel cancer cases in the UK every year and #fundraising days like today are important to #support and #help raise #awareness. In total we raised £240 for the Bobby Moore Fund! 100% of the money raised is donated to Cancer Research UK through the #fund. A special mention and thank you to Jack Higgleton for organising our efforts. Every year Redwood throws an annual charity event, making it a point to prioritize not only giving back, but to spread awareness for different causes and organizations that have touched or affected our coworkers & colleagues. Particularly, my team, Cash Us If You Can, has chosen to support RUNX1 Research Program (RRP), as a member on our team and their family has been impacted by RUNX1-FPD (familial platelet disorder).  What is this you might ask? Medically it is a hereditary hematologic malignancy syndrome associated with a pathogenic variant of the RUNX1 gene.  And you might also ask, what does that mean? It means that this pathogenic variant affects the stem cells that produce blood cells, which results in the following issues and complications: A lower count of platelets and/or platelet dysfunction, bone marrow deficiencies, various skin disorders, excessive bleeding & bruising, and an increased risk of getting cancer & specifically blood-related cancers.  If you are able, please consider making a donation toward my team’s goal. ‼️INTERACTION WITH THIS POST CAN SAVE LIVES‼️ Like all of you who are reading this, my life has been directly impacted by the trials of cancer. I have watched countless individuals in my life go through the battle, including aunts, uncles, grandparents, close friends, classmates, teachers, members of my church congregation, and the list could go on. While some still battle, others are in remission, and others have been lost, I care deeply about limiting the impacts of this treacherous disease. I have decided to participate in the Pan-Mass Challenge, an 85 mile bike ride from Boston to Cape Cod, as a means of raising funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute with team L.E.K. Consulting. This is especially meaningful to me, because funds raised for this organization go towards treatment costs, not just towards general research. Your willingness to donate can have a direct impact on the lives of those affected, and I am pushing myself to a new physical limit to show support for those who are pushed to their physical limit without the choice. The ride is on August 2nd, and I have set the goal to raise $5,000. Every dollar counts, and 100% of donations go directly towards treatment costs and research at the Dana-Farbor Cancer Institute.
