For this President’s Day, I was reflecting on impact and legacy. I want you to imagine YOU died. It’s now YOUR funeral. Picture it. The people you know sitting to hear those closest talk about your life. What will those coming up say about YOU? What was YOUR Impact, Your Legacy, and how you Lived your LIfe? We do it for Presidents. Let’s do it for ourselves now. Listen as I talk about these three areas. Then I have a challenge for you that may change how you go about your life this week, and maybe just maybe, for much longer. So that how you live is also how you want to be remembered. Who are your heroes? My family and I have been movie buffs for a long time. For us, it's not just about watching movies; we also discuss them. We even act out parts of scenes for our own entertainment. Our favorite part is being shot at and refusing to die. We find different ways to fall to the ground, but we will always rise again. Haha! While reflecting on movies, I realized how much I love heroes, both on screen and in real life. We need heroes in our lives. We stop having heroes not because we grow old. We grow old when we stop having heroes. In fact, looking up to heroes is one of the pillars of a successful individual, organization, and country. We should always remember the heroes who have contributed to our successes. Heroes are reflections of our desires to turn a dream into reality. They inspire new visions and help influence our characters and values. Heroes promote a stronger desire for more heroic acts in our midst. We should model ourselves after heroes. Their achievements fuel our motivation to achieve greater successes. We admire their stand against the tides of their times. We are absorbed by the ways they defy overwhelming odds. Yes, they have flaws. They have failed. They might have fallen. But they rose again to make history and leave a meaningful legacy for us. Heroes show us that we can achieve far more than we can ever dream or imagine. If we stop having new heroes, the bedrock of our success may be shaken. In fact, we need to find and embrace more heroes in our lives. By sharing their stories again and again, we too can be inspired to rise and claim our places under the sun. Who are your heroes?

The Gift of Today In the relentless pursuit of tomorrow's aspirations, we often find ourselves entrapped in the anticipation of what lies ahead, inadvertently overlooking the precious gift bestowed upon us today. Today is not merely a placeholder between the past and the future; it is a present, a parcel of gift awaiting to be unwrapped with gratitude. It is a sanctuary of moments, worth our celebration. As we hustle and bustle for the fulfillment of our ambitions, let us pause for a second, and recognize the array of gifts we are blessed with; the gift of life, the laughter of loved ones, the roof over our heads, the clothes on our bodies, the food on our tables, the peace in our households; these realities are not mundane but answers to prayers we prayed yesterday. The gift of today extends beyond personal celebrations; it is also an opportunity to bless. Today is a receptacle of kindness, compassion, and connection. We can extend a helping hand, share a word of encouragement, make a positive impact on the lives of those around us with today’s little while we work towards tomorrow’s abundance. Are you praying for a child? Be a blessing to someone’s child today. Praying for an open door, open up your doors to someone in need. Whatever you’re praying and working hard for, extend similar help to a stranger or loved one today. By embracing this gift, we make proof of the gifts of today and contribute to a ripple effect of positivity that transcends the boundaries of the present moment. Let us not be so preoccupied with the dreams of tomorrow that we miss the enchantment of today. For in acknowledging the gift of today, we unlock the door to a life filled with profound moments, meaningful connections, and an enduring sense of fulfillment. Today is not just a fleeting moment, it is a treasure trove of blessings waiting to be enjoyed. Remember, the present is the future you anticipated for in the past. Dr. Jones, or Indiana as his friends referred to him, was correct: we are going to die. It is an universal and natural part of life, so the earlier and deeper we can engage and accept Death, the better prepared we’ll be when that moment arrives. What kind of legacy are we really leaving behind? This summer has been a wake-up call for my wife and me. We’ve been thinking hard about what we’re leaving behind—not just for our child, but for each other. How will we be remembered? Sure, we want to leave a financial legacy. That’s important. But there’s more to it than that. Our true legacy is seen in the way our child acts, in the stories our loved ones share when they talk about us. I’ve been through my share of battles—literally and figuratively. Life’s knocked me down more times than I can count, but I’ve always found a way to get back up. That’s what I want to pass on to my kid: the strength to handle whatever life throws at him, and the importance of treating everyone with kindness and respect, no matter what. Of course, ensuring financial stability is part of the plan, but it’s just one piece of the puzzle. The real goal is to create a legacy of resilience, wisdom, and integrity—values that will guide him far beyond the numbers. I want my legacy to live on through him—not just in what he accomplishes, but in his actions, his attitude, and the way he carries himself in this world. So, what about you?
