Driving the news: The GM Energy PowerBank is now on sale! The PowerBank comes in 10.6 kilowatt-hour and 17.7 kWh options. Customers can pair two of the larger units to power the average U.S. home for up to 20 hours. The company is also launching a kit that enables GM electric vehicle owners to power their homes and a system capable of converting #Solar power into electricity stored in the #PowerBank. What they're saying: "We believe we have the most comprehensive charging energy solution on the market today," Wade Sheffer, vice president of GM Energy, tells Axios State of play: The PowerBank starts at $10,999 for the 10.6 kWh version, including the power inversion system and reverse #EVcharging. The big question: Will GM target industrial or utility use, which has powered much of Tesla's energy storage business? ⚡GM is introducing a suite of products to enable Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) bidirectional charging for its EV customers. 🛻The first bidirectional-equipped BEV is the ’24 Chevrolet Silverado EV First-Edition RST, a $96,000 pickup truck. ☀️They are also planning to launch other residential energy products like stationary energy storage and solar integration, later this year. 📢GM has announced a lot of things before, only to push them further - their Ultium platform for example. So it will be interesting to watch where this goes. I am personally more interested in V2G and how that business model evolves. WattEV opens US’ first megawatt charge station with 1.2MW speeds and solar ...WattEV says that its charge depot in Bakersfield, CA, includes the first MCS charger in North America, and the fastest as well. Tesla has a number of its own 750kW chargers deployed “behind-the-fence” in Pepsi and Tesla facilities, but this 1.2MW charger beats those in speed and is also publicly available. MCS is a new charge standard being worked on by charging standards organization CharIN. The standard is close to being finished, though currently there aren’t really available MCS-capable trucks, or even UL-certified charging units. https://lnkd.in/gf6-yJ9u
