Solutions Manager at WhiffAway Group - Disruptive processes for Water Saving. Reduce your Carbon Footprint
Touchy subject. While we can do little about the current situation relating to water costs and service throughout the country, companies can certainly do everything in their power to reduce the amount of water they are paying for. Contact us to discuss how we can help.
Thames Water is likely to be the first of many UK Water Authorities who are radically increasing their prices. These 40% increases being reported represent an urgent need for investment in our aging water and sewerage infrastructure. Water Conservation and introducing retro-fit technologies will continue to play its part in managing demand, driving cost savings and reducing carbon emissions for customers in the process. WhiffAway Group is proud to be playing its part in implementing hundreds of thousands of our award-winning waterless urinal systems across over 40 markets globally, saving our clients and industry an estimated 750,000,000m³ of water, £1.9 billion and reducing carbon emissions by 14.7 million kgCO₂e. #waterconservation #savewater #savemoney #smartrestrooms #carbonreduction #sustainability #ESG #waterlessurinals

I gave Mark Tuchmanna bit of a hard time over this post, but I do think TIP National LLC needs to be highlighted for the quality I have personally had when dealing with them through my career. I would truly consider giving them a shot at your business if you are a broker doing the hard core trucking risks. I take shots at the companies like Tint who have no understanding of the truckers. They don't even have an experienced person from the trucking world working for them. TIP does understand the complexity of this segment. #insurancecompany #insurancecoverage #strictlyonwheels #insuranceagency #insurancepolicy #insurance #truckinglifestyle #truckinginsurance #truckingindustry #truckingcompany #truckingaround #truckinglife #truckinggirl #truckingnews #trucking #mothertrucker #mothertruckers #Shetrucking #shetruckingpodcast #womenintrucking #truckingindustry #riskmanagement #TruckingLife #ELDCompliance #FleetManagement #RoadSafety #TechOnTheGo #TruckingAuthority #USDOT #MCNumber #BOC3 #TruckingInsurance #UCR #IFTA #IRP #TruckLife #OnTheRoad #Transportation #Logistics #TruckingBusiness #DriveSafe

This is a a very insightful piece adding essential understanding that the extant genetic variation of trees will likely influence forest adaptation to the shifting map of environments and C sequestration potential under climate change.

As I read this very informative article, it highlights the sad reality of the globally crisis. We are not taking care of the finite fresh water resources. It’s absolutely ridiculous when utilities reporting upwards of 40% NRW. We know the real issues that are germain to the problem we faced. We heard of available financing to ensure water security for a sustainable future but still the investments are not happening rapidly enough to cauterise the problem. I wonder is it a capacity issue or governements and utilities are too highly leveraged, hence accessing these $Bs is only a pipe dream and so the problem persist. Clearly the conversation or privatizing public water utilities, PPPs must be on the forefront of policy makers. We are jogging at the same spot and believe we are making progress. Without creative thinking and bold action it seems we will be forever fighting a never ending battle of sustainable water resource management. Just my impromptu thought I believe worth sharing.

Right now money is tight everwhere and there is a balance to be found on how we select our priorities and where we choose to spend whats available. But redirecting nature funding feels so wrong. Nature funding and tackling our climate emergancy is not an extra on top of essentials to be focused on when things get better. It is an essential... a requirement... a prerequisite.... a necessity... to ensure that things will get better at all.
Senior environmental manager and professional body CEO. Passionate about nature's recovery. Proud to be an ecologist. Proud to lead CIEEM.
Very disappointing to see the news about the re-directing of nature funding in Scotland to other (albeit important) areas of govenment spending. https://lnkd.in/epVP5TVb Scotland has led the UK in investing in nature recovery in recent years but there is still so much work to do so this does feel like a hammer blow. Whilst there is the suggestion that the money will be replaced in future years, who knows what spending pressures will then be directing money away from vital conservation work? And who is counting the economic and social cost of not investing in nature recovery at this time?

The UK's water industry regulator has issued penalties to water utilities and ordered them to return £158 million to customers for failing to achieve environmental targets to reduce chronic leaks, sewage pollution and water supply interruptions in 2023-24. The most penalized company is Thames Water, partly owned by OMERS and the British Columbian Investment Management Corporation (BCI), which will lose £57 million for missing environmental targets. Anglian Water, which is 100% owned by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, will lose £38 million. The penalties come as British water and sewage companies face mounting public anger for their plans to raise customer bills by £144 on average over the next five years. The utilities are trying to fund a £105 billion investment program over that period to improve performance and bolster networks against climate change and population growth. This is an important area for the industry to tackle because many areas of England already regularly experience water shortages and climate change is expected to exacerbate this issue. The UK's Environment Agency estimates that the country will need an additional 5 billion litres of water a day by 2050 to support the economy and environment. Are Canadian pension funds, which own real infrastructure assets that people depend on all over the world, ready for the worsening and accelerating impacts of climate change?
