Terrye shared: “One key takeaway I've learned thus far in my work as an EP Fellow at NYC Department of Education is the value of having influence without power. I have been reminded that everyone has a role in the social change ecosystem to make a collective impact towards fighting against systemic inequities. In my role, working intimately with data has allowed me to better narrate the story it tells and make it more accessible to other partners and decision-makers. In a few recent discussions with both potential members and legacy members, it's become clear that there's curiosity about the differences between our Boot Camps and Forums at Morrow. To break it down: Boot Camps: Think of Boot Camps as hands-on workshops where you roll up your sleeves and dive deep into learning. It's like a crash course in creating a venture studio, where you'll walk away not just with knowledge but with practical skills ready to be applied in the real world. These sessions are co-hosted with leaders in Morrow and are available every quarter to both members and non-members. It's a space for intimate discussions, where you can bounce ideas off your peers, learn from their experiences, and challenge assumptions. The Difference: Boot Camps are all about structured learning with a curriculum, while Forums are where the magic of peer exchanges happen. The Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) team is evolving to become a learning-centric organization. They're using insights from our partnership to inform the implementation of their new strategic plan. How are they meeting their goals? Expand Brand Awareness: SCUP developed a more focused content strategy to showcase their achievements and knowledge, increasing their value as a strategic learning hub. Increase Association Membership: They're aligning their values strategy to member needs and expanding their reach to non-members with the goal of improving membership conversions. Grow Conference Attendance: They adjusted their strategy to focus on the value of participating in events and the benefits of contributing as a presenter to grow their community of higher ed professionals focused on learning.
