It's fascinating how our experiences shape our worldview, often creating narrow and sometimes biased perceptions of reality. Take, for instance, the common belief that success in India is synonymous with a degree from a prestigious university. While this might hold true for some, it overlooks the incredible stories of success emerging from unconventional paths across the country. Consider the story of Srikanth Bolla. Born visually impaired in a small village in Andhra Pradesh, Srikanth faced numerous challenges from a young age. Despite his exceptional academic performance, he was denied the opportunity to study science in high school due to his disability. Undeterred, Srikanth fought for his right to education and became the first blind student in India to study science at the intermediate level. Srikanth's journey didn't stop there. After being rejected by several prestigious Indian institutes, he applied to universities abroad and was accepted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States. His time at MIT was transformative, equipping him with the skills and vision to make a difference back home. Upon returning to India, Srikanth founded Bollant Industries, a company dedicated to creating eco-friendly products while providing employment opportunities to people with disabilities. Bollant Industries employs hundreds of individuals, many of whom are differently-abled, and has grown into a multi-million dollar enterprise. Srikanth's story exemplifies resilience, and determination that challenge the conventional definition of success. His achievements highlight the incredible potential that exists beyond traditional educational paths and urban centers. India's talent pool is not confined to the IITs and IIMs. Beyond these esteemed institutions lies a vast landscape of self-taught professionals, entrepreneurs from small towns, and innovators without formal education who are making significant impacts. These individuals, often overlooked by mainstream narratives, embody the spirit of resilience and ingenuity. Moreover, the notion that urban centers like Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai are the sole hubs of innovation and opportunity is outdated. Across the nation, from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities to rural areas, there are countless examples of groundbreaking work being done. These regions are breeding grounds for talent and innovation, driven by local needs and unique challenges. Our perception of success should be inclusive and reflective of the diverse realities within India. A degree from a top university is valuable, but it's not the only path to achievement. Let’s broaden our perspectives and appreciate the myriad ways in which individuals across India are redefining success and honor the true spirit of innovation and resilience that drives this nation. #India #SuccessStories #Innovation #Diversity #Talent #Perspective

I recently watched the movie *Srikanth*, and it left a profound impact on me. The story of Srikanth Bolla is incredibly inspiring and demonstrates how determination, hard work, and a positive mindset can overcome any obstacle. I felt compelled to share my thoughts and what I learned about this remarkable individual. Srikanth Bolla was born visually impaired, which posed significant challenges in his early life. Despite societal and systemic barriers, he pursued his education with unwavering resolve. His journey from being denied admission to prestigious institutions in India due to his disability to becoming the founder of Bollant Industries is nothing short of extraordinary. One of the pivotal moments in Srikanth’s life was his meeting with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the former President of India. Dr. Kalam was known for his visionary ideas and his encouragement of young minds. He recognized Srikanth's potential and supported him in pursuing his dreams. This support and guidance from Dr. Kalam were instrumental in bolstering Srikanth's confidence and helping him envision a future where he could make a significant impact. Bollant Industries, under Srikanth's leadership, focuses on creating eco-friendly products while employing people with disabilities. This inclusive model not only promotes sustainability but also provides meaningful employment opportunities to those who are often marginalized. What struck me the most about Srikanth's story is his relentless pursuit of excellence and his ability to turn adversity into opportunity. His achievements remind us that our limitations are often self-imposed, and with the right mindset, we can achieve anything we set our minds to. If you haven't watched the movie *Srikanth* yet, I highly recommend it. It’s a powerful reminder of the human spirit's resilience and the impact one person can have on the world. #SrikanthBolla #Inspiration #OvercomingObstacles #BollantIndustries #Inclusion #Sustainability #NeverGiveUp #APJAbdulKalam

Do you know ? Srikanth Bolla was born blind in 1992 in Andhra Pradesh, India. Despite his disability, he was determined to receive an education. However, he faced numerous challenges due to societal prejudices and limited resources for the visually impaired. Many schools refused to admit him, but his parents fought for his right to education. ✔ Bolla's persistence paid off when he gained admission to MIT, Manipal, where he pursued a degree in business management. After facing rejection from several companies during campus placements due to his disability, he decided to take matters into his own hands. 💡 In 2012, at the age of 19, Bolla founded Bollant Industries with the goal of providing sustainable employment opportunities for people with disabilities. He started with a small team and focused on producing eco-friendly disposable products made from natural materials like leaves. 🌿 Despite facing skepticism and financial challenges, Bolla's determination and innovative approach helped Bollant Industries grow into a successful enterprise. Today, the company not only promotes environmental sustainability but also empowers individuals with disabilities by offering them meaningful employment. 👏 Bolla's life story is a testament to his resilience, courage, and entrepreneurial spirit. Despite facing numerous struggles, he didn't let his disability define him and instead created a positive impact in society through his business ventures. 💯 #connections #linkedin #motivation #hardwork #India #Post #inspiration #success

This week marks the birth anniversary of one of India’s greatest reformers, Ishwar Chandra #Vidyasagar—a man who embodied resilience, excellence, and the courage to drive change. Vidyasagar was a true pioneer of women’s #empowerment. At a time when educating girls was considered radical, he boldly opened the first girls' school in India. His efforts planted the seeds for the #genderequality and empowerment we see today. But what truly sets him apart was his resilience. Despite facing immense resistance, Vidyasagar remained undeterred. For Vidyasagar, education wasn’t just about knowledge—it was a tool for social transformation. His life teaches us that resilience is the key to driving lasting change. It’s about pushing forward, even when the odds are against you. Vidyasagar’s legacy is a reminder that true impact comes from staying the course and believing in your #purpose. Let’s honor his contributions and take inspiration from his resilience to keep advancing a more equitable and empowered world. #Resilience #Empowerment #Vidyasagar #Leadership

𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 - 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 In India particularly across the states, we have people joining from various regions for Jobs/Employment in Corporate sectors. When it comes to IT, we have a rich talent pool who hail from different parts of India enthusiastic to contribute their share towards organisational goals Interestingly we find that most of the time the preferred language of communication is the native language of the state. While this is understandable, are we empathetic to people who do not know the language? Do we speak in English which is the official business language for everyone to understand instead of misinterpretation? Remember 5 things in mind while you have diversified task force in India 1. 📌 Everyone's viewpoint is important and it is critical that we communicate in English so that we all are able to communicate without reservations 2. 📌 Forming a sect based on local language or region (North/South etc) defeats the purpose of soliciting inputs from different set of audience 3. 📌 Personalities of people in North, South, East or West are different. So do not assume all Indian's are same. The culture, ethnicity, way of upbringing and social environment have a bearing on the personality. So be open and receptive to communication 4. 📌 Festivals and Customs of People need to be acknowledged with due respect and provided a platform to exhibit their cultural heritage 5. 📌 Develop a mindset of humanism, sense of mutual respect and partnership when we work with people across states. Let's make India a place where each and everyone has the fundamental right to work in any part of the country with the same level of respect, support and encouragement. While we have been boasting about the concept of #UnityinDiversity for a long time, can we make this reality in the IT Jobs that we do in India. #DiversityEquityandInclusion #DEI #IndianITFraternity #ITJobsinIndia

NANDAN NILEKANI : FROM "IMAGINING INDIA" TO DELIVERING IT.... At a meeting couple of days ago at the Ek Step Foundation with my friend and well wisher of many years, who I hold in high esteem for his continuing grace and humility over the years despite his incredible achievements, and who is now revolutionising primary education in India at the grassroots at population scale after having built India's digital backbone. Sharing a genuinely uplifting episode which stands out as a lovable memory in the course of a day's work. Given Nandan's visionary background in building public goods at population scale to solve our myriad problems, EkStep takes on the multidimensional problem of a lack of access to learning opportunities in India, working to improve literacy and numeracy, and addressing this challenge at scale. Designing contextual, highly scaceable solutions via collaborative thinking and networks which allow for positive interaction between social, government and private sector entities is the powerful raison d'etre of Ek Step. Nandan had presented his inspirational book IMAGINING INDIA to my daughters when they were in school in early 2000s to ignite young minds on the unending possibilities despite all the gloom and doom which governments could not solve. He was destined to also make it happen ! As I had mentioned in my earlier posts, I am so glad I am creating the time and space to connect and spend quality time with old friends and colleagues who were part of my career trajectory at different points in time decades ago.I look forward to such meetings in every city I visit, and these are almost cathartic Aging gracefully, gratefully and peacefully with a sense of fulfillment and gratitude is indeed a blessing. And so is the ability of the inquisitive mind to still continue learning from Life's experiences which keeps us both energetic and young. #India #life #corporates #business #leadership #management #diversity #transformation #technology #lifelearnings

In our professional circles, we often define ourselves by our titles and careers rather than as individuals. I hold an MBA in marketing, was a college topper, and proudly named the Best Student of the Year. A few months ago, after welcoming motherhood, I made the conscious decision to become a full-time mom and homemaker, firmly believing that nurturing a child is among the most vital roles on this planet. If you resonate with this, please share your thoughts below. When contemplating stepping away from my career, many seniors advised against taking a break, citing potential impacts on my professional profile. However, due to personal and medical reasons, I needed this break for a few months. Relocating to Pune with my family, life eventually found its rhythm, prompting me to seek new skills and reignite my corporate journey. Being in Pune, an IT hub, I reached out to friends for guidance on acquiring the skills needed for my desired profession. While one friend graciously provided direction leading to an interview opportunity at a Big 4 firm, another segment of my contacts chose to ignore my request, treating it as if I had asked for something extraordinary. This experience made me reflect. If a professional with a decade of experience faces such a situation, how challenging must it be for youths seeking guidance? Despite our extensive social media connections, are we genuinely connected in real life? This led me to ponder the need for an active community—a space where individuals are willing to mentor the youth of India and mothers returning to careers after a gap, sharing industry insights and expectations. Our education system often falls short in providing this crucial guidance. You don't need to hold a CXO-level position to guide the younger generation. Even if you have a few years of experience and a willingness to support, your insights can be invaluable. Please comment below if you're interested in guiding the youth. Let's create a platform for a brighter future for India's aspiring talents. Thank you, A Full-Time Mom dedicated to shaping a better future for India's youth." #indianyouth #YouthGuidance #careerinspiration #mentorshipmatters
