Thanks to our local rotary clubs, all CCPS third-graders recently received a brand new dictionary to add to their home libraries. Flipping through a paper-filled dictionary helps students acquire a broader vocabulary, learn the correct spelling of words, understand pronunciation, and improve reading comprehension. We thank our local rotary clubs for supporting the education of our students! #CCPSFamily
OK, ready for a game? You're gonna love this. I just know you will turn to page 147 and tell me what is the longest word on that page and what does it mean? I think it's exciting when you can learn new words. And I I think kids by just their nature are curious. Do you know I still have my dictionary from college? That's been a long time ago. The Dictionary Day project has been going on here in Collier County for nearly 20 years. This is part of an overall. Plan to improve the edge occasional abilities of all young people in our area. Go find it on the page. Sometimes technology fails, sometimes your battery dies. You have to know where to get your resources. To some degree it's been a lost art a little bit right? But I will tell you I still find many kids who would much prefer a book, a physical book to hold, then something on a tablet on a computer Rotary. Was Saul was found. That education, as evidenced by the school system here in Collier County, improves the lifestyle of all students and opens the door for many opportunities they wouldn't otherwise have. A big thank you to the Rotary Club of Naples and Mr. Cameron for sponsoring dictionaries for every 3rd grader in Collier County. We will put them to good use. Thank you.
What a great idea! (From one that enjoyed reading through dictionaries, Lincoln Library of Essential Information and various encyclopedias as a kid.)
Get the kiddos engaged in the "WORD FOR THE DAY" game with each other. Did that with my kids and grandkids on a regular basis.

Many teacher trainees don't feel well prepared for the teaching profession. Their training is often too theoretical and inadequate for the practical demands of their work.
But quality pre-service preparation is critical for quality education - improving teaching quality and retention of teachers.
In our blog, Mary Burns, Ana Pinheiro and Ana Poças detail three recommendations to improve pre-service teacher training: http://g.pe/pZ5I50QQA3t#TeachersTransform#FundEducation
