🌎 Reflecting on My Journey at Petpooja✨ As I look back on my time. Where I had the opportunity to work as an Operations Executive. Those early days were filled with excitement and nerves as I navigated the challenges of a new workplace. I learned so much, not just about the industry, but about myself. Here are a few key takeaways from my experience: ● Embrace Learning: Taught me the importance of continuous learning. I was fortunate to work alongside experienced mentors who guided me and encouraged my growth. I realized that every task, no matter how small, was an opportunity to learn. ● Adaptability is Key: The fast-paced environment pushed me to be adaptable and resourceful. I learned to think on my feet and respond to challenges, skills that have served me well. ● Feedback is Fuel: Receiving feedback both positive and constructive was crucial. It helped me identify my strengths and areas for improvement, shaping my approach to future challenges. Today's #WomensHistoryMonth celebration is for Daniella Cardenas! Daniella has been a Marketing Coordinator at Amwins for almost 2 years, and in the last 8 months or so, it's been really fun watching her come into her own! When Daniella started, she was this really quiet employee, who would just kind of hang in the background... 18 months later, it is pretty evident what she was up to. She was taking time to learn, grow, and just find her footing on her team. Now she is someone who I would call a model employee! All of her requests are really clear and well-written, she is always able to answer any questions I ever have, and she always tries to make things better. (None of this growth is surprising considering her boss is Megan Talley, MBA, but we will get to her celebration another day 😂) But even with all of those awesome attributes, what I admire most about Daniella is who she is at her core as a person, and how she transfers that into her career. She is the kind of person who will ALWAYS do the right thing, even when no one is looking or if she will get credit. She always shows up on time and ready to work. She wants to earn everything she gets and doesn't just want it given to her. She will take any task and treat it like it's the most important item on her (extremely long) to-do list. Wayfarer just turned 5 ✨ We registered the company on Oct 15, 2019 and went off to rethink hotels for next generation travelers and bridge the value gap for hotel owners. 3 months later, travel aspirations went from exploring the world to exploring your sidewalk. Today we manage over 400 units in Japan with another 300+ in our pipeline! 5 milestones for 5 years of Wayfarer: (1) My 😺, Saffron, has traveled over 60,000km on the Shinkansen. JR needs a loyalty program for him. (2) 23 new white hairs that definitely weren’t there when this all started. (3) 105,000+ lines of code in our hospitality software stack. That's basically another Hobbit in word count. (4) 35 nationalities across the 100+ team members at Wayfarer. Our culture nights are 饭tastic! (5) 0 faxes sent 📠 - this was a KPI, true story. I've met a lot of inspirational peers and founders on this journey; there is one line that stuck with me: "Survive until you're relevant". I sincerely can never really say it enough. Thank you to all the Wayfarers who believed in us. Thank you to our investors who entrusted us with Wayfarer. And thank you to all the asset owners, partners and vendors who have been part of the journey. We made it to 5 and whatever comes ahead, it has been a real privilege.
