So many amazing people here! State IT leaders and vendor partners are united in advancing education and enhancing the technical landscape. The keynote opener by Marcus Buckingham on Love and Work was fantastic, highlighting how to unleash the most powerful force in business. Biggest takeaways: There’s a growing concern about rising anxiety and depression in the workplace and a loss of trust in major institutions. Here’s how we can address it: 1. Forget the “work-life balance” myth. 2. Reframe “Find a job you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life” to “Find the love in what you do.” The quest for the perfect job often leads to dissatisfaction and endless searching. Instead, focus on the 20% of your work that you truly enjoy, and let the rest fall into place. Leaders: - Assess both strengths and talents. - Focus on driving outcomes such as productivity, loyalty, and quality of work. - Caring is reactive; love is proactive. - Understand the difference between merely checking up and genuinely checking in with your team. - Instead of just aiming for more of what you expect, strive for more of what you’re willing to accept. #TASSCC24
