I'm proud to be presenting with Jerron Lowe during our Education Workshop session on Wednesday at 3:45: Building a Positive Culture in a Unionized Environment Can Be Done!: Trust, Respect, Teamwork, and Excellence. Do these words describe your culture with facilities management and a unionized workforce? It does not happen overnight and takes intentional and deliberate leadership and cooperation across multiple years to build a successful relationship between university and union leaders. This presentation will provide lessons learned where Facilities Management and Human Resources departments partnered together to overcome tremendous challenges throughout contract negotiation, grievances, wage increases, and intrusion of academic departments in labor relations. Additionally, insights will be shared of outsourced management of union staff with contractors and labor considerations in public-private-partnership management structures

Just a quick reminder that especially this time of year, as we get closer to the FFEA Conference, we tend to see an increase in the number of scam emails that are being sent to look like they are coming from FFEA. We will NEVER sell our attendee or membership lists. If someone is reaching out offering to sell you an attendee list, it is absolutely a scam. What do you think the theme will be this year?

As I advance in my support for care sector organisations seeking to participate and represent the sector on the ICB, I am fully aware of the current structure of regional care representative organisations. Attached, you will find a draft letter for your consideration, in case you haven't already pursued involvement with your local ICB. I would also like to highlight the necessity of a coordinated approach for the greater benefit of the sector. A strategic effort, geared towards serving the common good, is crucial for our collective success. Remember we need 42 representative bodies and i ask that those already in a position to approach the ICB take that into consideration, mistakes made now will be difficult to correct.
