NEDSCHROEF'S CONTRIBUTION TO A SUSTAINABLE WORLD Publication of the 2023 Sustainability Report At Nedschroef, we believe we can make a difference by implementing sustainable solutions throughout our value chain. Our sustainability strategy, an integral part of our corporate approach, is guided by the 3-P framework: People, Planet, and Profit. We are pleased to share Nedschroef's achievements in sustainability, derived from these three fundamental pillars. These efforts ensure that Nedschroef adheres to relevant legislation and trends in sustainability. The impact of our business and operations on people, the environment, and the economy is detailed in our annual sustainability report, which is based on GRI standards. This report is now available online below and on our corporate website. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS IN 2023: - Training and education for our employees increased by 44% (to 18.114 hours per 1.000 FTE’s). - Gender diversity of female employees is stable on 17%. - More than 85% of waste is recycled, the other 15% is incinerated. - More than 99% of our products can be recycled. - Water withdrawal has been reduced by 47% to 160.370 m3. - Electricity from renewable sources increased by 15% to a total of 80%. - CO2 intensity is reduced by 50% since 2020. In the coming years, we will strive to accomplish being emission neutral by 2040 and to contribute in a better, safer, and healthier environment for our people everywhere in an increasingly connected world. Great news 🌟: Our Sustainability Report 2024 is now available 📖📊. On 70 pages, SÜDPACK reports on the positive impacts of our sustainability efforts and how we take responsibility toward the environment and our stakeholders. We have come a long way since the first Sustainability Report in 2016. Now, our fifth Sustainability Report in accordance with the GRI standard reports for the first time on all SÜDPACK production locations and also covers key milestones 🌱🏆: ♻️ Circular economy: We are delighted that we have reduced waste by 11% (from 2021 to 2023). We can also announce that we generate 32% of our sales with sustainable or circular products (figure for 2023). 🌍 Climate protection: We reduced Scope 1-3 carbon emissions by 22% (from 2021 to 2023). Today, 46% of the energy used in the total SÜDPACK Group comes from renewable sources (figure for 2023). 🤝 Social responsibility: 68% of the volumes we purchase come from suppliers with their own sustainability certificates, and in 2023 SÜDPACK gained SA8000 certification.
