The new OSR Reboot initiative, spearheaded by United Oilseeds, recently gathered 57 experts from farming, retail, research, and more to address the declining UK rapeseed production. Key challenges include pest pressures and the post-neonicotinoid ban, which have lowered yields and boosted import reliance. Focused on three pillars—innovative breeding, agronomy, and policy reform—the initiative aims to revitalize the sector by creating resilient crops, adjusting farming practices, and pushing for supportive policies.
