It's heartening to see Who Cares? Scotland answer the call from care-experienced individuals across the world to co-create this day of commemoration. As someone who proudly identifies as care experienced, this day holds personal significance. It's not just about remembering; it's about acknowledging the multifaceted experiences and advocating for positive change and equal opportunities needed for all care-experienced individuals. Reflecting on history, one poignant 'untold story' that resonates deeply with me is that of Ernest Bevin. His journey from care experienced youth to a pivotal figure responsible for fostering peace and cooperation across the free world, including the establishment of NATO, is a testament to the potential within every care-experienced individual. By celebrating the equality and achievements of care-experienced people, we pave the way for even greater accomplishments in future generations.
