Today, Sept. 1, marks the start of Hunger Action Month, and throughout the month we are joining with our partners across the state who work to end food insecurity in Ohio. Food insecurity touches every corner of Ohio, and we are proud to partner with organizations dedicated to ending hunger. Together, we can fight food insecurity. Consider volunteering for your local food pantry, go orange for hunger or share what Hunger Action Month means to you. Share in the comments: What is your local favorite organization working to end hunger? #HungerActionMonth

On Saturday, Columbia joined the Wellston Fire Department Touch a Truck event during the Wellston Ohio Hill Country Festival. Around 200 children attending the event with their families had the opportunity to vote on their favorite touch a truck station and setup, and we were thrilled to place first! Our setup included educational handouts, natural gas safety information and, of course, plenty of trucks and equipment for children to interact with.

The start of September also marks the start of Hunger Action Month, and that means we’ll be joining our partners across the state who are committed to ending hunger in Ohio. According to Feeding America, one in seven adults and one in five children in Ohio are living with food insecurity. Let’s work together to change that. From Athens to Springfield, central and northeastern Ohio to Toledo, you can join us in supporting one of the many organizations working to feed our neighbors, friends and community members across the state. Volunteer, go orange for hunger or share how Hunger Action Month is personally important to you. #HungerActionMonth
