It's important to remember that not all calories are created equal. Focusing solely on the quantity of calories can lead to a diet lacking in essential nutrients. Instead of just counting calories, aim to make every calorie count by choosing foods that are rich in vitamins, minerals, and other important nutrients. This means opting for whole, unprocessed foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins whenever possible. Fat is a fantastic macronutrient! It's essential because our bodies can't create those vital fatty acids on their own, so we get to enjoy delicious fats in our diets. These essential fatty acids play a crucial role in helping us absorb those fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) that keep us healthy and vibrant. They're like the secret energy superheroes, especially when our carb intake takes a little vacation. Picture this: you can find these amazing fats in olive oil, coconut oil, butter, ghee, lard, cream, and the delightful world of nuts and seeds. So, not only are fats essential, but they also bring flavour and vitality to our lives 💪🥑 #LowCarbKeto #CollaborativeCare #HealthyLifestyle #HealthGoals #SpecialisedSupport #LowCarbLifestyle #DoctorLedDiet #LowCarbNutrition #LowCarb #Ketogenic #ChronicConditionManagement #LowCarbDoctorAdelaide #LowCarbDietitianAdelaide #HealthCoachAdelaide #MetabolicHealth #HealthyFats

Modern food processing strips nutrients from our food. An example of this is refining grains where important nutrients like B vitamins, iron and fiber are removed along with the bran and germ.Tre-en-en Grain Concentrates supplies whole-grain lipids and sterols that are missing from our diets. I use tre-en-en to supplement my diet and I love 💕 it. You feel energised and reborn.

Many athletes I see hyperfocus on macro nutrients. Macros are protein, carbs and fats. The micronutrient content of our diet is also super important. We need a wide variety of vitamins, minerals, fibre, phytonutrients etc. to keep us performing optimally. 3,000 calories per day from a big pile of junk will not have your performing as well as a diet based around proteins, load of vegetables and fruits, nuts and seeds, high fibre foods such as beans, lentils, chickpeas etc and great fats such as olive oil, avocado and oily fish. Junk food is very inflammatory and may lead to more joint issues, less than optimal recovery, fatigue, gut issues etc. Think of it as putting optimal fuel into your body rather than the cheapest fuel you can find. #vitaminsminerals #carbsandfats #athletes #nutrients #vitamins #minerals #healthyfood #micronutrients
