🌨️❄️ January was anything but dull! With eleven significant events, including a #blizzard that brought 6 to 16 inches of snow across our portfolio and some long duration events with mixed precipitation, we've been working hard to keep your properties safe and accessible. ❄️ The combination of snow, rain, freezing rain, and frigid temperatures made January an icy month in New England. Boston even experienced its fourth wettest January on record! 📅 Looking ahead to February, the Pacific jet will extend, leading to a warm-up. But don't put away those winter coats just yet. As we reach the end of the month, arctic air will return, bringing chilly temperatures back into the eastern part of the country. ☃️ While Punxsutawney Phil predicts an early Spring, the stats show that February and March are typically the snowiest months of the year on average. So, we're not out of the snow zone just yet! ❄️ #JanuaryInReview #FebruaryForecast #WinterWeatherUpdate #SnowAndIceManagement #StaySafeInWinter #WinterIsHere #JCGrounds WeatherWorks

HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY FROM PAMARCO! Every February 2, a crowd of thousands gathers at Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, to await a special forecast from a groundhog named Phil. If the 20-pound groundhog emerges and sees his shadow, the United States can expect six more weeks of winter weather, according to legend. But, if Phil doesn’t see his shadow, we can expect warmer temperatures and the arrival of an early spring. Even though he’s been forecasting since 1887, Phil’s track record for the entire country isn’t perfect. To determine just how accurate he is, here is a comparison of U.S. national temperatures with Phil’s forecasts. On average, Phil has gotten it right 40% of the time over the past 10 years.
