After the 9/11 attacks, America’s security state expanded in size and scope. Abroad, the Bush administration launched the “Global War on Terror”, and invaded Afghanistan to eliminate the Al Qaeda culprits. At home, the focus became on eradicating the ideological justification for murdering thousands of Americans. As the government developed an understanding of Jihad, and Islamist ideology, two narratives emerged. The first was that we were battling a set of ideas; and the second was that it was that the criminal justice system could cleanly delineate between extreme speech and violent violations of rights, on a case-by-case basis.

The message is so clear, Palestinians want Independence/Freedom/Liberation/Peace & Security for all, Palestinians and Israelis alike. At the same time, the Israeli Occupation, the root cause of all violence, continues to advocate for war in the highest form of terrorism. The Netanyahu government had already caused a lot of harm not only to the Palestinians but also to its own people and state image let alone any prospects for peace in the ME. Netanyahu is costing Israel a huge price by losing the uniqueness of their own history. Israel has a leadership that is politically selfish, blind, focused on personal interests, and very short-sighted. And anybody who talks about the Jewish values now, where are they? Are they with forced displacements, starvation, and murdering children and women? In 4 months, the death toll rose in Gaza to more than 27000 civilian souls perishing under the fire of Israel, can I hear the conscious Jewish voices of the world rise against this madness?
