SAVE THIS! 📌 When faced with a fire emergency, every second counts. Using a fire extinguisher correctly can mean the difference between life and death. Remember the PASS method: 🧯 P - Pull the safety pin or ring to release the lock. A - Aim the nozzle or hose at the base of the fire. S - Squeeze the handle to release the extinguishing agent. S - Sweep the nozzle or hose back and forth, covering the entire area of the fire. Don't gamble with fire safety - learn and practice the PASS method today! A workplace needs to have a person who is competent to fight fires. Because the firefighter needs to obtain the correct knowledge and equipment to ensure that they are safe and that they know what they are doing. If the non-compliant employee should risk it and use the incorrect methods or the incorrect fire equipment it can lead to the company being seriously held liable should something happen or the employee can be held seriously responsible for his/ her actions. Thus the employer must have a competent person in which case the employee gets the proper training and receives the appropriate knowledge. It is also beneficial to have a competent firefighter as this prevents the employer from facing loss of life. Share with your loved ones and colleagues to ensure everyone is prepared in case of a fire emergency. #FireSafety #FireExtinguisher #PASSMethod #EmergencyPreparedness #SafetyFirst #firefightingtraining
