Australia paves the way for mobile communications with ACMA’s 6GHz allocation ACMA has decided to conditionally allocate 515 MHz of the upper 6 GHz band to mobility in Australia. This is a great boost for the mobile industry to further advance wireless technology for Australia. We have been advocating the need for this globally (via World Radiocommunications Conferences) and locally with ACMA, and demonstrating the capability of 6GHz and that it can penetrate indoors and an ecosystem can be created for mobility to encompass this band. We have had a phenomenal growth in mobility over the last thirty five years. However, spectrum is a gift from nature and its limits are nonnegotiable. So decisions on spectrum are quite paramount to technology development. Due to the increasing integration of chipsets and antennas in the mmWave range, the boundaries between chipset testing, RF testing and antenna characterization have become blurred. Antennas play a pivotal role in wireless communications systems, where modern communications technologies use sophisticated methods for related antenna design. Especially at mmWave frequency, conducted DUT measurements are no longer feasible due to smaller antenna sizes, cable costs and setup complexity and vulnerability to bending or mismatching. We are pleased to join our partner Aethertek Technology’s mmWave antenna module development with Rohde & Schwarz’s compact antenna test range (CATR) ATS1800C solution. ATS1800C provides the ideal environment for testing 5G FR2 antennas, modules and devices over the air (OTA) from R&D to conformance. Learn more about how a faster and more cost-effective process to streamline the making of a mmWave beamforming antenna system is done with Aethertek’s highly integrated beamforming AiMs. #mmWave #DUT #CATR #ATS1800C #5G #FR2 #antenna #OTA #beamforming #RSTW #RohdeSchwarz #MobileWorldLive #WhitePaper #WirelessCommunication #AiMs Alex Lu Wendy Chuang Lyndi L.
