State Legislative Changes: 1. Especially for any business and restaurant. How often do you follow yearly or bi-yearly( like Texas) updated laws and guidance regarding services dogs? Using Texas as an example, Texas passed updated animal cruelty laws and misrepresentation of a pet or emotional support dog as s Service Dog that include fines and community service time. 2. Unfortunately, police departments at all levels do not receive training or implantation so I’m developing a presentation that I hope will help correct the oversight.

Executive Director for the Texas Humane Legislation Network, Adjunct Law Professor for Animal Law and Wildlife Law at SMU College of Law
It is one thing to pass a law to help animals, but it is another to ensure that the law is enforced. This is why partnerships with stakeholders are crucial in enforcement of Texas animal cruelty laws. I am proud of stakeholders coming together this week to educate local law enforcement on the Safe Outdoor Dogs Act. Trying to figure out why a law isn't being enforced might be as easy as picking up the phone, and explaining why it should be enforced, in which it was ultimately for this dog and others. https://lnkd.in/g4rxumgP
