What is composable commerce? As Filippo Conforti explains in this article, Composable is an approach to building your ecommerce architecture or #ecosystem where you select the #bestofbreed applications and you integrate them to work together. As shown in the picture below some of the essential elements of an ecommerce architecture include a Content Management System (#CMS), a Product Information Management System (#PIM), an ecommerce engine, an Order Management System (#OMS), a search application, a Content Delivery Network (#CDN). These applications can be integrated directly via #API directly or using another piece software specialising in integrating applications: a #middleware. In large organizations it's always necessary to integrate several different software solutions in order to gain or maintain a competitive advantage, for example by adopting innovative solutions that are not present in the ecommerce platforms. Some examples could be an #AI platform for #SEO Optimization, and Identity Management Solution (#IDM) or a Customer Data Platform (#CDP).
