This week’s recap on E-commerce Intersections focuses on why CommerceNext is figuring out the holy grail of conference formats. So let’s get into it: 💡 Easy for merchants: in exchange for information about their business needs, merchants can attend for free. Merchants set meetings with vendors based on their communicated needs. 💡 Easy for vendors: in exchange for sponsorship, vendors are matched with merchants’ expressed needs that align to their solutions. Vendors and merchants are paired up in two formats - 1:1 meetings and sponsored dinners - making it easier on the vendor to meet with the right merchants. 💡 Showcase content from experienced operators: Dawn Foods Global presented their entire strategy for composable transformation for FREE. 💡 The environment felt boutique: similar to B2B Online, CommerceNext delivered a conference environment that encouraged interactions organically due to its size, not shuttling merchants like cattle from session to session. 💡 The right brands attended: notable brands like L'Oréal, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., Theory, Revlon and so many more made their presence known both in sessions and on the show floor. Scott Silverman and team did a great job delivering on what I would consider the NEW conference model. Finally it awas great to work with my partners in crime Andrew Rothchild and Craig Gottlieb two A+ players that you always want on the field. We learn a lot from each others’ approaches.
