𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 is key in pest control. Outdoor dining is great for customers and rodents. We closed all possible entry points and customers will eat outside pest-free. The problem with NYC's outdoor dining is that it has created shelter to rodents and other pests. Therefore, the best approach to control this would be by rodent and insect proofing. #rodentproofing #insectproofing #pestprevention #pestsolutions #commercialpestcontrol

Quick Tips for Sellers ◾ It is best to find an agent who can guide you through the process of today's market trends and has knowledge of your neighborhood. ◾ During showings, try baking some desserts or spraying a little air freshener to make the house more inviting- utilize as many senses as possible. ◾ Invest in some easy fixes like planting flowers, repainting your front door, and placing fresh mulch in your garden beds. ◾ Some people really don't like pets, and having pet traces in your home (including smells and pet accessories) can be a real turn off for such individuals. #StephanieStanford #MattStanford #StephanieandMattStanford #Compass #CompassFremont #SGH #SGHTeam #HomeSellingTips #SellYourHome #RealEstateAdvice #SellerTips #HomeSelling #SellSmart #RealEstateSelling #HomeSale #MarketYourHome #PropertySelling #RealEstateAgent #RealEstateExperts #HomeStaging #MarketInsights #SellerGuide #SellingYourHome #HomeValuation #RealEstateStrategy #HouseSelling #SellYourProperty

This photo shows what a Vertical Oyster Garden (VOG) looks like after it’s been soaking in our bay for two years, compared to a VOG just about to be deployed. Look at all the oyster growth! Earlier today, my neighbors and I put out two dozen VOGs undeneath a community dock where we live. Those are in addition to the three dozen we put out two years ago. In Sarasota Bay, we not only need to reduce our watershed nutrient loads, we have to increase the assimilative capacity of our bay. One way to do that is to hang VOGs under docks and piers. If they don’t touch the bottom, then you don’t need a permit. The SBEP works with our partners to collect oyster shells from seafood restaurants, “age” the shells, and then use volunteers to construct the VOGs so that they are ready to deploy. That way, HOAs or individuals can collect them for free, and hang them (we just used rope) themselves. If you can’t hang them yourself, we have folks who will do that for you (at a minimum cost). So proud of my neighbors who helped in this deployment, which brings us to 60 VOGs. Which sounds great - until I found out we have a HOA in Sarasota that is looking to put out 600 VOGs! But that’s what the bay needs - more to be done, more quickly. #sarasotabay #oysters

'I Make Nothing' - Local Fishers Weigh Leaving The Industry As Inflation Drives Up Costs By Mark Ladao Hawaii Public Radio, October 17, 2024 https://lnkd.in/gbwXeZ3x "Troy Pack, the captain of the Itasca, a Hawaii-based longline fishing boat, had a different outlook on his job just a few years ago. I loved being a captain. I loved my job. I loved fishing, but it's like I was making good money and it was worth it. It was worth being away from my family and worth being away and being at sea for 25 days a month. "Normally the longline fishers can recoup their costs and make a profit by selling their catch. Most of that is done at the Honolulu Fish Auction, also located at Pier 38. "The auction's average daily selling price over the last week or so has been right in the middle of that range at around $4.20. "We been looking at a $3 to $5 market for 30 years. That's never changed. It's the price of everything else that's going up." __________ Hawaii Seafood - Pure & Natural Enjoyed Coast-To-Coast PIKE'S PLACE Fish Market, Seattle, WA Tuna (Ahi) - Yellowfin, Hawaii, Wild 1 lb. $39.99 (bottom right image) "These boneless ahi tuna steaks have a firm, meaty texture and are perfect for the grill - best served slightly seared over high heat with a rare center. Sustainably wild-caught in Hawaii, our yellowfin tuna is sashimi grade and also served raw". FULTON Fish Market, New York City, NY Fulton's Finest Wild Ahi Steak 1 count (7oz - 9 oz) $28.49 each (right, right side image) "The firm, Seattle texture and rich distinctive flavor of fresh Ahi Tuna makes it one of the most popular choices around the globe. Ahi is a Hawaiian term that refers to both Yellowfin and Bigeye Tuna. While technically different species, the two can be difficult to tell apart in terms of taste or appearance. As a result our expert fishmongers look for and select the best quality product available each evening. Some differences you may notice are Yellowfin maybe being a lighter red color, a bit firmer and milder. Bigeye have a higher fat content. "Regardless if it's yellowfin, bigeye or bluefin, #1 tuna must exhibit high fat. The presence of fat will appear as marbling in the meat and near the skin. The texture will have a sticky feel to it and the color should be red, shiny and translucent. This is the best grade for all raw applications - sushi, sashimi, crudo, etc." NICO'S PIER 38, Honolulu, HI Bluefin Tuna Fillets (Otoro) 1 lb. $36.95 (left, lower image) "Similar to beef, different cuts of bluefin tuna meat have different names and prices. The more expensive, fattier cuts are toro. The most well-known cuts are otoro and chutoro". __________ Buy Local, Eat Local should not stop just at the produce from local farms and ranches. Support Hawaii's Longline Fishing Industry and its fishermen by buying and eating locally sourced seafood.
