The so-called VA Waiver is a reduction in your DOD pension to offset VA disability payments. It was counter balanced by Concurrent Retirement and Disability Pay (CRDP) and Combat Related Special Compensation (CRSC) for some Soldiers, but not all. Fact Friday - Tunnel Vision? We have a lovely couple that heard from their friends that "they should only go in a Continued Care Retirement Community ( CCRC) ". The friends that are giving this advice still live at home .🧐 What our clients didn't realize- There's a 7 -12 year wait list ( at this particular community) There's a $250,000 buy- in ( Which is reasonable, my clients in Arizona paid $750,000) That you have to move into most CCRC's as Independent ( not needing care). Unfortunately both the husband and wife have health issues.. HENCE, they were so glad they called Elder Placements so we clearly explained all of these factors before making this big cross Country move. I want to mention we love Continued Care Retirement Communities and work with so many of them. They are a wonderful model that provides the senior an opportunity to age in place and eliminates disruptive moves as a seniors care needs increase.
