As I head home from this years Workday #WDAYDevCon I cannot help but wish I had just *one* more day to pick the brains of all the experts in attendance. This years event was incredible, the DevHub, combining BrainDates, Expo , and the DevHub After Dark party was great! Easy layout, energizing and engaging conversations, and not a mile walk from the breakout sessions. The highlight for me though was the new format for Hands On Labs. Instead of classroom style pre-conference training, it was a drop in style setup, with planned activities you could choose from. The computers were all logged in to tenants and the Developer site, so no need to waste time getting started, and it let you focus on the learning. I really do hope they keep the format and expand it. It helped me reinforce my actual pre-conference training, and clarified some question I had from the on hand experts. Can't wait for next year!

Org x Culture x Leadership x Talent I Strategic Advisor I Pragmatic, Fit-for Purpose Consultant I Speaker
Working on your L&D strats and plans for 2025? Looking to evolve and continuously improve your Leadership Development efforts? If so, I highly recommend the Adeption Incubator https://lnkd.in/gph3S53J. I went last year when Google hosted and it was really impactful. It's designed to be a smaller forum of awesome people you can learn from, get feedback on different approaches for designing LD efforts, and have time to reflect and grow yourself as well. Leading experts in the field help guide the sessions and give great support and coaching. A few key things that were especially impactful for me: - New perspectives on how to help leaders address the increasing complexity they are facing - Enhanced my thinking about ways to better scale LD efforts/make a broader impact - Grabbed practical tips and practices that I could immediately leverage - Made deep connections with people that have continued to be a resource They are hosting a FAQ Meetup on July 18 - definitely check it out! Carl Sanders-Edwards I Nick Petrie I Corey Criswell I Jan Rybeck
Are you interested in joining this year's Design Incubator at Workday's HQ in Pleasanton, CA on August 26-27? Then join our free FAQ meetup happening next week with Carl Sanders-Edwards and Nick Petrie to find out more. Here's some of the questions Carl and Nick will cover: ❤️ How you can jumpstart your design process through the Incubator ❤️ What to expect during the 2-day event ❤️ How to take advantage of our early bird dates ❤️ Who are the powerhouses attending this year? ❤️ Q&A and more Register for the FAQ meetup (July 18): https://lnkd.in/gxJ5e72T OR secure your spot by applying today: https://lnkd.in/gBVSsPgn Tim Davisson | Corey Criswell | Kristen Hartley | Michael Campbell | Matthew Murphy

This week Tilled our entire company took the 4 day work week to hold a hack-a-thon, which we named Build Week. Our Theme: The week where we're focusing on ways to make our lives easier at Tilled. What made this different from any other hack-a-thon I've been a part of is we included the entire company, including our CEO Caleb Avery! This didn't necessarily mean that everyone was writing code, as there was a lot of updates to our documentation of our processes, knowledge base articles, and creating specific sales and marketing resources. Everyone was invited to a slack channel before the holidays to pitch ideas, the ideas were organized after the holidays around themes, and teams were formed. Each team had 3-7 ideas they could choose to work on. We had 10 teams with over 20 demos today! Each of the teams were organized around different themes a few of my favorites were: * Put some of the Tilled culture stuff on autopilot * Improve internal resources and tooling * Alerts 🚨 Create new alerts and ways to get information from slack commands * Reduce engineering escalations by adding new functionality to the admin portion of our software One of the biggest highlights for me was seeing Andrew (AJ) Silverberg demoing off the Slack App he built over the week to automate the creation of coffee with coworkers, pairing up random folks for a quick coffee/get to know you chat. After the awesome demos and value we added to Tilled this week, I'm sure it's something we will schedule again. If you are a leadership position where you have influence over planning a hack-a-thon I would highly recommend involving the entire company!

😒 Hosting your hackathon after hours? Think again. Expecting employees to participate in hackathons *outside of work hours* limits involvement and excludes those with family or other commitments. Instead, schedule it during the workweek to maximize participation and focus. Communicate company-wide, allow participants to adjust schedules, and why not even cover meals during the event? Last (but certainly not least!) get on the same page with your product team: no roadmap development during the hackathon, to prevent overloading the team. What do your internal hackathons look like? #HackathonTips #EmployeeEngagement #WorkLifeBalance

Happy International Coffee Day! ☕ At GitLab, we've found a way to keep social connections alive in our remote work environment: Coffee Chats! Coffee Chats are informal virtual meetups where team members connect beyond work-related topics, sharing a coffee, tea, or favorite beverage. We encourage our team to make time for these chats with anyone in the company. Why? Because building relationships creates a more comfortable, well-rounded work environment – even when we're oceans apart. We’ve logged over 2.8K coffee chats and climbing since International Coffee Day last year. 📈 Here’s what coffee chats mean to our team members ⬇️ Pilar Mejia, Javier Garcia, Jocelyn Hernández Vázquez, Chloé Guillemot, Fernando Diaz

Sales at awork 💜 creating happier teams with the #1 rated work management tool in DACH 🤗 workhappiness > monday blues 😀
What happens if you gather 45 aworkies and take away all the daily to dos? They create 11 great ideas for product, brand and productivity 🙌🏻🚀 On our last onsite, we had our first idea jam at awork 🥳 Like a hackathon, but also for people like me (with zero development skills) It was a great event and here is how we did it: Before the event, everyone was able to contribute their ideas. We had a total of 80 ideas 🤯 So we had to rank them and created a top 20. The owners of that ideas pitched them in our all hands, and then we formed teams. 11 ideas survived. During our onsite week, we dedicated a whole day to work on our ideas. We had no meetings, disabled our chat, and had only our emergency phone line for clients running. Luckily, there were no incidents. We had full focus on our ideas, and I'm still in disbelief how fast we delivered great results. We have such a motivated and skilled crew, it is a pleasure working with you. Big shoutout to my team Ian, Davide, Carolina, Jessica and Jan 💜 At the evening, we pitched our results and voted for a winner 🏆 It was a well deserved first place, and you can look forward to an awork card game 😏 Overall, it was a great experience and definitely worth the time and effort. Have you done something similar? #newwork #workhappiness #teamworkmakesthedreamwork
