CCA was a proud sponsor of the Boston Center for Independent Living (BCIL) 50th Anniversary event, which celebrated the organization’s efforts to empower people with disabilities, helping them gain the practical skills and self-confidence to take control over their lives and become active members of their communities. #thankyou BCIL for everything that you do!

In an article featured in The Lowell Sun, CCA’s Lauren Easton, SVP of clinical innovation, discusses efforts by CCA and other community organizations in Lowell to help deliver medical and social supports to migrant families currently living at the UMass Lowell Inn & Conference Center. “Once the families arrive at the ICC, CCA’s integrated care model kicks in. Families are triaged for services such as primary health care, school enrollment needs, English language and job placement services. The primary focus, said Easton, is preparing the families for an independent life outside the emergency shelter system. ‘At the start of everybody’s journey, we immediately start looking for housing,’ she said.” CCA is supporting similar initiatives at other locations across Massachusetts. Local Springfield, Massachusetts station, WWLP, spotlighted CCA’s Day of Service activities at the Cultivating For Community Farm in Hadley. CCA is pleased to announce it has received a 4 out of 5-star rating for its Massachusetts Senior Care Options (SCO) plan by the National Committee for Quality Assurance® (NCQA) Medicare Health Plan Ratings 2024. NCQA is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to assessing and reporting on the quality of managed care plans, managed behavioral healthcare organizations, preferred provider organizations, new health plans, physician organizations, credentials verification organizations, disease management programs, and other health-related programs. “This recognition is a testament to the work CCA does every day to provide excellent, person-centered care in Massachusetts,” said Mark Waggoner, General Manager of CCA Massachusetts. “Our SCO plan demonstrates CCA’s dedication to whole person care that addresses all aspects of members’ medical, behavioral, and social needs so they can live safely and independently in their communities for as long as possible,” said Dr. Hany Abdelaal, President of Clinical Services at CCA. As part of CCA’s Day of Service on September 12, CCA team members participated in the program "A Bed for Every Child" - by the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless - to build beds for children living in poverty in areas such as Lawrence, Boston, and Springfield.
