Yesterday marked the launch of our first Project-Based Learning program for the Spring 2025 semester! 🚀 After a competitive selection process, four exceptional students met virtually with Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) and GuidePoint Security on Tuesday to kick off the “SOC-in-a-Box” GuidePoint PBL program. In this project, students will develop a scalable and deployable lab environment for cybersecurity practitioners to practice and hone their skills. We look forward to seeing what they create! In my opinion there is not a skill gap. Having just attended the CDIS - Egypt Cybersecurity & Data Integration Systems Conference & Expo Data Integration Systems Conference & Expo. many young cybersecurity professionals looking for their break! A pool of talented professionals taking cybersecurity into the future. The problem is not on the supply side, with suggestions ranging from training and education to promotion of cyber as a career path for under served groups. Generally it’s with the constraints on hiring imposed by the business/company/enterprise.(experience- money and the myth that cyber does not bring in revenue) Invest in talented individuals who come with passion,vision and motivation.They are out there! Take a risk on limited experience and watch someone flourish in your business and make a difference.
