🌊 Making waves in wastewater management 🌊 IHC’s Phase 1 Improvements Project at the Freeport Wastewater Treatment Plant is underway! 🚧 The first of three sections of wall pours was completed at the UV building, with approximately 162 cubic yards of concrete poured yesterday. Phase 1 improvements will include replacement of the water treatment plant’s headworks, the addition of a chemically enhanced primary treatment process that will receive stormwater flow, prevent untreated discharges to the Pecatonica River and raw sewage leaks in maintenance areas, replacement of obsolete laboratory/sampling testing equipment, the elimination of chlorination disinfection byproducts, and the transition to a new UV disinfection for wastewater effluent. Addressing these challenges and making necessary improvements is crucial for maintaining operations of the wastewater treatment plant and ensuring environmental compliance. 🌍 #IHCConstruction #WaterQuality #SustainableFuture
