As a male leader, I believe that a major step toward closing the gap on gender inequality is for men to fight for women in the workplace. I must say, while I have thought extensively about the varying nuances around AI, the fact that a machine would be gender biased did not come to mind. This article from UN Women was a fascinating read about the first step in removing gender bias in AI is to make removing gender bias in society a goal. #AI #Leadership #FemaleLeaders #EmpoweringWomen

🔔Just 2️⃣ days before our Women For Ethical AI #W4EAI conference at UNESCO in Paris❗️ Please join us from around the world to discuss about everything #gender & #ArtificialIntelligence, including: ✅Our "Gender Outlook" that, among other issues, examines national #AI policies from a gender perspective. ✅What data exists, what data we need, and how to move forward to a) respond to data bias, and b) monitor gender equality in the #AIEcosystem. ✅What measures should be taken to advance towards equality in accessing funding for startups in the tech sector. Our work is, of course, based on the UNESCO Recommendation on the #Ethics of #AI; our work provides concrete policy insights and practical actions to effectively implement it. In this framework, I will have the honor of speaking about specific issues without which #GenderEquality cannot be achieved, such as: ✔️addressing the rights and priorities of women with marginalized identities and characteristics systematically, with an #intersectionality lens, ✔️acknowledging the risks of AI systems to sexual and reproductive rights, and the imperative of responding the AI-powered gender based violence #GbV, ✔️adopting zero tolerance policies for all kinds of harrassment in the workplace and in the AI ecosystem more generally, ✔️examining #AI policies not for what they say, but for what they do, and for what resources they mobilize to make gender equality a reality 🖊️Registration link to join online: https://lnkd.in/dVpJf2We In partnership with the #AIActionSummit and with support from European Union. A bientôt!
