"Inclusion is not about bringing people into what already exists; it is making a new space, a better space for everyone." As we continue to champion diversity and inclusion, it's essential to ask ourselves: Are we truly reimagining our workplaces, or are we simply adding diversity to existing structures that weren't designed for everyone? Creating a truly inclusive environment means challenging the status quo, rethinking traditional norms, and ensuring that every voice is not only heard but also valued and influential in shaping the future. How can we, as leaders and change-makers, go beyond surface-level diversity and make our organizations places where everyone feels they belong and can thrive? I'd love to hear your thoughts on what it takes to move from diversity to true inclusion. What steps have you seen work, and where do you see room for growth? #DEI #Inclusion #Leadership #Belonging #WorkplaceCulture

"Allyship is about seeing beyond your own eyes and recognizing patterns—who’s being interrupted, whose ideas are dismissed, and who’s not fully engaged. By identifying these patterns, we can create systems that ensure equal access, opportunity, and belonging for all." – Maureen Howard, VP of Equality & Inclusion, P&G We were honored to have Maureen Howard join us at the 2024 WBC Action for Impact Summit for a powerful panel discussion on effective allyship and how leaders can drive meaningful change within their organizations. This session, "Allyship in Action: Transforming Workplace Culture," shed light on actionable strategies to build more inclusive environments where everyone can thrive. “On a daily basis I see social media updates, blog posts, articles all proclaiming that a particular organisation is working towards a diverse workforce. A leader quoted saying something along the lines of how “diversity of thought” is crucial for their business and how “everyone is welcome”. Lots of lovely, well-intentioned soundbites. But when you scratch below the surface, are these things any more than just well meaning intentions?” Read our Insights article, “Diversity And Inclusion – How Do We Harness Intent So There Is Tangible Impact?” here: https://lnkd.in/dViS2VK #Inclusion #DiversityAndInclusion

"I never thought promoting diversity would make some of my best employees feel excluded." This candid comment from a recent consultation highlights one of the most nuanced challenges in the DEI space - balancing inclusion while avoiding unintended exclusion. While we really are often more alike than we realize, the truth is, there are some differences among us. And that’s. O.K. Those differences are to be celebrated, not shunned. Thus, when thinking about inclusion, it’s not about making certain groups feel special - it's about creating space for individuals to be their authentic selves and to feel as though their voices are heard and perspectives recognized. And to do so in an equitable way but figuring out how to meet each where they are. Leaders who listen to their teams, encourage open conversations, and learn from different perspectives help break down barriers. And by doing so in an equitable way, actively recognizing that employee A needs one thing while employee B might need something else to be successful and meeting them where they are, leaders set the tone for the entire organization. Inclusion isn't about spotlighting some while shadowing others. It's about illuminating the whole room. #LeadershipLessons #DEI #WorkplaceCulture #InclusiveLeadership #DiversityAndInclusion #ProfessionalDevelopment #CorporateCulture #CulturalAwareness #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #Belonging #UncommonADR
