I Ghostwrite for LGBTQ+ Service-Based Businesses | 10+ years of digital writing experience | LGBTQ+ Transgender Veteran Corporate DEI Speaker
The ability to impact the lives of tens, hundreds, or thousands of people at once is electrifying. I know I have a unique story that has helped people come out, inspired them to take action, and find compassion for those they work with. I understand the impact of a supportive culture firsthand from not only my time as an out, visible transgender Soldier, but also recently as a trans man who has given birth. My story shows representation of transgender people where many haven’t seen it before. My story inspires leaders to take the steps necessary to understand and build a culture of support for their transgender employees. My story helps allies find compassion in a new way so they can better connect with LGBTQ+ people in their lives. “Bastian is an engaging speaker with the ability to relate to a variety of attendees, in alignment with topics and goals.” -Xcel Energy client It’s not too late to book for Pride month. 🌈 Yesterday marked a significant milestone in the UK's journey towards equality and inclusion. 🎉 March 29, 2014, witnessed the historic enactment of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act, paving the way for the first same-sex marriages in our nation. ✨ On this 10th anniversary, while we celebrate progress made, it's crucial to recognise that the fight for LGBTQ+ equality is far from over. Recent events across the world highlight the ongoing importance of LGBTQ+ activism and advocacy. 🏳️🌈 The enactment of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013 was a pivotal moment, granting legal recognition to same-sex couples and symbolising a significant step towards fostering a society where love knows no boundaries. However, challenges persist, and recent global developments underscore the need for continued efforts to protect and advance LGBTQ+ rights. At InterEngineering, we stand firm in our commitment to celebrating diversity, advocating for inclusivity, and empowering LGBTQ+ engineers and their allies. 🌟 As we commemorate this milestone, let us not only reflect on how far we've come but also reaffirm our dedication to creating a world where every individual is valued and respected, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. 💪✨ #LoveIsLove

June 26: How to incorporate LGBTQ+ affirming practices in therapy. 🌈 Affirming therapy is essential for supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and creating a safe, inclusive environment. Here are some key practices to ensure your therapy is LGBTQ+ affirming: Educate Yourself: Stay informed about LGBTQ+ issues, terminology, and the unique challenges this community faces. Ongoing education is crucial. Use Inclusive Language: Always use correct pronouns and gender-neutral terms when appropriate. Respect your client's identity and preferences. Create a Safe Space: Ensure your therapy environment is welcoming and inclusive. Display symbols of support, such as Pride flags or inclusive posters. Be Culturally Competent: Understand the cultural contexts and diverse experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals. Intersectionality matters. Validate and Affirm: Actively affirm your client's identity and experiences. Avoid assumptions and listen empathetically to their stories. Advocate for Your Clients: Support LGBTQ+ clients in navigating systemic barriers and accessing resources. Be an ally in and outside the therapy room.
