🌟 Empowering Visit to the Doctor! 🌟 Yesterday, I went in for my routine physical—the first one in over a year—and my doctor couldn't hide her surprise. "You look amazing, probably the best I've ever seen you!" she exclaimed. Hearing that was a profound moment, marking a milestone in a journey that's taken years. This transformation didn't happen overnight. It's been a long road of reassessing and tuning into what my body needs—physically, emotionally, hormonally, and spiritually. I've learned to understand and navigate the messages my body has been sending, messages I had once silenced. Not deliberately, but simply because I was overwhelmed with growing a business, running a home, and nurturing a family. It's a delicate balance, one that requires constant attention and care. Part of my empowerment comes from being knowledgeable enough to ask for specific tests and discuss my blood work in detail with my doctor. This is the same empowerment I pass on to my clients, giving them the tools to question and confidently discuss their health needs with their physicians. Can someone truly know what's best for you in just a 10-minute conversation? It's vital to be an active participant in your health care, rather than just being told what you need. During our conversation, we delved into functional medicine and health coaching. It’s startling how traditional medical training often overlooks crucial areas like diet, nutrition, and lifestyle. This realization underscores the vital role health coaches play in disease prevention and wellness. My doctor was eager to learn more, asking for my insights on supplements, nutrigenomics, and more. She even asked for my business card! We also touched on the intense pressures facing our healthcare system and the importance of proactive health management in alleviating some of that strain. Our chat was a powerful affirmation of the need for holistic approaches and the significant impact we can have on our own health. 🌱 In the world of health advice, there's so much to take in. I've spent most of my life trying all these different approaches, 📊 popular trends, pivoting to the hot topics or information in the current moment. 🧠 In the last few years, I’ve realized something important: to really understand our health, we need to look at the whole picture.
