I am deeply shocked by the recent events. The attack on Prime Minister Robert Fico is a tragic consequence of the hate spread by individuals and groups, further amplified by social media and biased journalism. These platforms often create distorted images of competitors, opposition, and rivals instead of providing unbiased information. Additionally, they are frequently misused as outlets for people to vent their frustrations, particularly when they cannot accept the success of others. This misuse of media has become a tool for the targeted destruction of individuals, leading to severe damage to personal and professional lives. Media outlets and social media platforms often wield their power to manipulate and influence public opinion, causing harm far beyond the visible consequences. This horrible event serves as a stark reminder of the daily misuse of media at all levels. Speaking from own experience, this includes national and international sports federations, with far-reaching effects on individuals. Now more than ever, we need to critically evaluate the information we receive through various media, discerning whether the author's intent is to inform or to manipulate and cause harm. Wishing Prime Minister Fico all the strength he needs for a full recovery from this unacceptable attack.
I am still under shock... In the last weeks, we worked hard to proudly present the results of the first 100 days of the new ministry and focused on finishing the tender for new premises to be able to work in standard conditions. All this, from my point of view, positive news, is nothing compared to what happened on Wednesday in Handlova where I left a few minutes before the tragedy. I was never trying to position myself as a politician, but now is the time to present not only my personal opinion but also a political standpoint that this tragedy is a onetime opportunity to re-evaluate our views on many things and focus ourselves on deeper values and de-escalation of the society. I will use now the Olympic values as a guideline - excellence, respect and friendship. I wish the Prime Minister Robert Fico all the strength he needs for a full recovery from this unacceptable attack.

The United Kingdom has joined the United States and France in endorsing India’s bid for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). During his speech at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized the need for reforms within the Security Council. He called for the inclusion of countries like India, Brazil, Japan, Germany, and permanent African representation to make the body more representative and effective, instead of being "paralysed by politics." This move by the UK follows similar statements from US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron, who also backed India's candidacy for a permanent UNSC seat. The Security Council currently consists of five permanent members – the US, UK, France, Russia, and China – who have veto power, along with 10 non-permanent members elected for two-year terms. India’s inclusion as a permanent member is seen as a step toward making the UNSC more reflective of the modern global landscape, with growing calls for broader representation. Independence Day... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Every year, on 15th August, we celebrate our independence day, because, we got independence from foreign rule on that very day in 1947. Yes, we are independent from foreign rule. But are we, truly, independent? We are independent from foreign rule, but, we are slave to a corrupt and faulty system which is controlled by a handful of influential persons who... When will we become 'truly' independent?? #justiceformoumita #justiceformoumitadebnath #independence #marketingconcepts

Much has been said about our new Prime Minister, as well as our now Senior Minister, so I won't add to it. I thought instead to speak to the things less said, about a historic moment that's happened only three times in our history. First, the sheer dramaless-ness of it all needs to be appreciated. Transitions and successions are rarely so, and due credit needs to be given to our entire system for keeping it drama free. Some in the news might even call it all a bit boring. But as a citizen, I'll take boring anytime. Second, unsaid (and sometimes unseen) is how the system is able to pull off organising such a historic ceremony in basically one month. I daresay it's something only Singapore can do - the logistics, catering, security, transport, protocol, public broadcasting, etc and of course, the work of newsrooms. All done appropriately, with no drama. Congratulations to everyone involved in organising it. It's a system that works reliably and quietly until it doesn't. And it's important we recognise it when it does. Third, it's surreal how things get quickly back down to work, with the excitement of the past month now firmly history. Again, so very typically pragmatic, but a sign that things are working.

We had the pleasure of hosting the former Prime Minister of Israel, Mr. Naftali Bennett at our annual conference. During the interview, Mr. Bennett quoted "We have an amazing nation, but institutional Israel needs to restart itself". He also discussed the effects of the war on the Israeli economy, the issue of equality in the burden, and the reasons why Israeli propaganda failed to transmit the Israeli narrative to the world. We would like to thank Mr. Bennett for his participation in the conference and addressing these complex issues. You are welcome to read and watch the full interview.
