Brian Schaefer, associate professor, Dept. of Health Promotion & Behavioral Sciences, helps us understand how the Louisville 911 call system works and his team’s effort to get the right response to match the call for help. Especially important is the designation of a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) run for behavioral health that comes through the 911 system (19,000 calls per year) in Louisville. This episode will provide insight into changes in the response system that serves the community better and more safely. https://bit.ly/3KaymwC

If you don't know about CCBHCs and the importance of this model to the future of agencies like Compass Health, take a moment to to follow and look at the materials provided by Fourfront Contributor in their advocacy work around this systems change. Adopting this model is critical to ensure we have the financial sustainability to serve those most in need in our region!
As a member of Fourfront Contributor, we’re advocating for statewide adoption of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model in Washington state – a nationally proven, evidence-based approach that will help ensure the sustainability of high-quality community behavioral health. Did you know that today there are more than 500 Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics and CCBHC grantees operating in 46 states, plus Washington DC and Puerto Rico! Check out the full map of states that have adopted the CCBHC model, and the outcomes they’re reporting, here: https://bit.ly/3y1BfwU

Even when people, groups, and communities mean well, they sometimes end up unknowingly keeping the cycles of violence going. This can have negative effects on their physical health, relationships, jobs, and the well-being of their entire community. That's where STAR training comes in. It's like a crash course in understanding trauma and how it affects people. Taking part in STAR training can help individuals, communities, and organizations do better in their work and live healthier lives. Matrix and Agile Leadership | Supply Chain Management | Business Development | Service Design | SaaS | EdTech | Global Skills Programmes | Bipolar Advocacy
⏳ My conversation with two-star Maj. Gen. Gregg F. Martin, PhD, USA (Ret.) about his extraordinary book "BIPOLAR GENERAL: My Forever War with Mental Illness" takes place tomorrow: 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm (GMT / UTC+0:00 / UK & Ireland) 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm (EST / UTC-05:00 / US & Canada) Use https://lnkd.in/ef4guaRr to sign up. This free webinar is courtesy of the Rotary Bipolar eClub, a partnership between Bipolar UK and Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland Gregg and I will explore his remarkable story to help individuals from all walks of life that may be living with bipolar illness, or caring for someone who does. We will also discuss the impact of living with #bipolardisorder on one's career and workplace performance with questions such as: ⭐ How do bipolar symptoms manifest in the workplace? How can they impact work performance and interactions with peers? ⭐ What is Gregg's strategy for continuous recovery, and what are the elements of that strategy? General Martin served on active duty for thirty-six years and commanded an engineer company, battalion, and the 130th Engineer Brigade in combat during the first year of the Iraq War. General Martin served multiple overseas tours, commanded the Corps of Engineers Northwest Division, was Commandant of the Army Engineer School, commanded Fort Leonard Wood, was Deputy Commanding General of Third U.S.Army / Army Central in the Middle East, Commandant of the Army War College, President of the National Defense University, and Special Assistant to the Chief of Engineers. Martin holds a PhD and two master's degrees from MIT, master's degrees in national security strategy from both the Army and Naval war colleges, and a bachelor's degree from West Point (class of 1979). The very traits that made Martin an outstanding military leader - incredibly positive attitude, tireless, and hyper-focused - eventually went too far. Only much later would he learn how the pressure of organizing dozens of simultaneous life-or-death missions each day had altered the biochemistry of his brain. The Iraq War triggered what military and Veterans Administration psychiatrists diagnosed as late-onset bipolar disorder, a chemical imbalance that sends sufferers whipsawing between grandiose imaginings and suicidal depressions. His increasingly erratic behavior led to his forced resignation as president of the National Defense University and ended his military career. He discusses why his condition went undiagnosed for so long and explores what can be done both within and outside the armed forces to diagnose and treat mental illness. Bipolar General should be of value to those with mental illness and to the communities of family, friends, and caregivers surrounding them. #mentalhealthjourney #continuouslearning #mentalhealthadvocacy #rotary
⭐ Coming up on Tuesday 28th November, 8 - 9pm ⭐ The fantastic Rotary Bipolar eClub presents Major General Gregg F Martin USA (Ret.) and author of “BIPOLAR GENERAL: My Forever War with Mental Illness” in conversation with Ivan Kennes – Rotary Bipolar eClub Treasurer and leader in the Learning and Assessment industry. If you're using HTAs for SoC/ reimbursement research (or doing it manually), you should check out TrialHub's first-in-class automated solution!
I'm watching "The Dynasty: New England Patriots" 🏈 right now (it's great) and saw this quote written on the wall in their office. Bill Belichick hammered this into his players and coaching staff. Basically, if NE were more prepared than the opposition, we were more likely to win (Yes, I'm a Pats fan) 😅 I read this quote many years ago, but it's a reminder that the planning you do, the strategies you implement BEFORE kicking off a project, and how prepared you are, often decides how well "the battle" will go. That's our mindset at #TrialHub. Instead of fixing issues as they arise, we help our clients actively predict and prevent clinical trial and #PatientRecruitment issues, based on historical and real-time data. Instead of reactively asking, "What's our rescue strategy?" our clients proactively ask, "How do I position my trial(s) for success?" #ClinicalTrials #ClinicalResearch #PatientFeasibility #TheArtOfWar #GoPats

Hey, we are holding a space for therapists to address grief and loss they experience as a part of this profession. Built on forming authentic relationships, therapists may often carry grief in the form of losing clients to death, sudden terminations, difficult therapeutic ruptures & holding vicarious/ shared grief along with the clients. We are here to open space for acknowledging this less explored aspect of being in this profession and extend support to fellow therapists. Facilitated by Dakshita Sabharwal & I at Limelighting Life Collective To know more: https://lnkd.in/gQuDgCsh
