Decisions for annual child care funding are happening right now in Washington, D. C. Congress needs to hear from you as soon as possible. Parents, Employers, and Business and Community Leaders, we are asking you to urge Congress to use the Senate numbers from the approved Labor-HHS- FY24 appropriations bill as a baseline for funding levels. Using this baseline to set FY24 Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) funding levels will: *continue to build a child care system that helps families, child care providers, businesses, and our economy to succeed; and *provide a $1 billion increase for child care programs from FY23. Sustained increased CCDBG funding would allow Missouri to build upon progress made with federal relief funds and continue to close the gap between existing supply and unmet needs. It will also help make child care more affordable for more families and help get families back to work, and be present at work because they have access to safe, quality child care in their community. Please share this post and take action now. Congress will vote on or around March 4th! https://lnkd.in/eA4RZdv

A new blog by Judy Reidt-Parker outlines how recent the Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) rule changes will provide a new opportunity to improve families’ access to child care. Child care remains inaccessible and unaffordable for too many families across the country. Ensuring access to high quality child care is an imperative for parents and children, providers, communities and the economy. Making eligibility determination and application process easier and faster for families, leveraging application guide for best practices in benefits application design and processes and clarifying how states can implement presumptive eligibility are some of the ways to utilize the new rule changes. HOW IS CHILD SUPPORT CALCULATED? The laws require that all parents support their children and provide for their basic essential needs. Basic needs include shelter, food, clothing, and healthcare, to name a few. When parents live in the same household, they usually share responsibilities and support for their children as a household. However, when the parents reside in separate residences, child support ensures that both parties provide their fair share of financial aid. Unmarried, separated, or divorced parents often have an order requiring one parent to make monthly child support payments to the other parent, who is then expected to use these payments to help care for the child. As they consider parting ways and forming separate households, many parents wonder: How is child support calculated? Click the link to read this informative article from the blog archives of Friedman & Bresaw, PLLC to learn how child support is calculated in New Hampshire. https://lnkd.in/emq3E2z5 #FriedmanAndBresawPLLC #FriedmanAndBresaw #NewHampshireAttorneys #ChildCustody #ChildCustodyNewHampshire #NewHampshireFamilyLaw #childsupport #ChildSupportNewHampshire #NHChildSupport
