One of CannonDesign ambitions, The Big Rethink, is all about flipping the tables on conventions and embracing the unexpected. SRG + CannonDesign did exactly that when designing two parking garages for a renowned athletic company. These next-generation structures redefine the typical parking experience by prioritizing placemaking and creating substantial spaces for pedestrian and recreational use. By rethinking the design and purpose of buildings like parking structures, we can transform mundane moments into opportunities for inspiration and connection, fundamentally reshaping what it means to navigate our cities and communities. 🚗 Learn more in this piece by Aaron Pleskac: https://lnkd.in/gi-4aCJh

Expert at helping communities solve transportation issues through engagement, shared understanding, and understandable data analysis.
A good article on the microcosm of issues in handling urban redevelopment. Key themes here for me are proximity to necessary services (including by transit), the dilemma of building preservation vs. necessary amenities, and maintaining affordability.

In case you were wondering how the merger is going, here is an example of the parallels between SRG Partnership and CannonDesign - a project that clearly supports CannonDesign's ambitions, designed and delivered by SRG well before the merger. Like minds and strategic alignment make for smooth transitions here at SRG + CannonDesign.

This is one of the prettiest homes that I never got the chance to sell. Watch the video and help me convince him! What do you think of the house and what is your favorite feature? I personally like that each room has its own unique style and feel to it. I also like the entertainment room in the backyard. You may need to watch it a few times to catch all the design elements. If you can pause and see all the skateboards hovering over the kitchen pantry, you're in for a treat! https://lnkd.in/gCnGEQH4 #listwithme #listingpresentation #sellinghomes #financialinvestment #investing #negotiate #lovewhereyoulive #community #loveyourneighborhood #neighborsandfriends #realestatemarket #homesforsale #realestate #realtor #homesforsale #localexpert #sellers #homeselling #negotiate #LuxuryHomesElPaso #ElPasoLiving #ElegantHomes #ModernLivingSpaces #NewHomeElPaso #FamilyHomes #SustainableLiving #ElPasoNeighborhoods

I've read AD since I was a kid in every library, muffler shop, doctors or dentists office that I've been to. It always gave me inspiration for design. "As you see...." We can view a house. "...everything is as beautiful as you can be." In 2006, I asked myself, "How green is my house?", "How can we help to prepare are homes for climate change, be eco-friendly, and energy efficient?", "How does my house compare to a home that has a green certification?" "Is a house only half green? yellow or blue?" How green is Sofia's house? You can verify the green traits with an online video. Unfortunately, you won't find all of the green in this video. But, it's worth watching. Pick out the common existing home green design traits in your local or national green home certification. A beautiful existing home can be a green existing home, someday. #homeowners #propertymanagers can see more green in their properties with a GAPScore home green assessment before getting green certified. Celebrities welcome. gapscore.com Perhaps, Sofia will show us her home's GAPScore. Just ask.

Shared Spaces/ Streets ++ shared spaces/ streets are good for your commercial corridors/ areas, places where the cars, pedestrians, bicyclist, and dining coexist in harmony >> "Shared spaces, or "naked streets,” are designed to be shared by everyone using every mode, without the traditional segregation of space. The psychology of shared space is grounded in the idea that humans have an innate ability to navigate and adapt to their environment, and that clear and consistent design cues can help guide behavior. Hans Monderman's philosophy was simple: to slow down traffic, create an environment where drivers feel uncertain about what’s expected of them. It means removing traffic signals, pavement markings, and road signs to encourage people to behave more responsibly and attentively, because they’re forced to rely on their own senses and judgment to navigate space." learn more at https://lnkd.in/d3U55zra

Be an expert on cities. Be an artist. In city design and management, there’s a lot we can learn from the principles of art, music, and literature. These disciplines, while seemingly unrelated, offer a unique lens through which we can view urban spaces—not just as functional places, but as environments that deeply resonate with the people who live in them. Consider the lines, shapes, and spaces in art. These are the fundamentals that give form to a painting, and in urban design, they translate to the streets, buildings, and public spaces that shape our cities. But it’s not just about how these elements are laid out—it’s about how they interact. Just as melody, harmony, and rhythm work together in music, the flow of pedestrians, the balance between green spaces and buildings, and the daily pulse of city life must be in sync. This harmony creates a city that feels alive and responsive to its residents. Cities also have stories to tell, much like a piece of literature. The plot is the city’s development—how it grows and changes over time. The characters are the people who live and work there, each contributing to the city’s unique identity. The setting is the environment, from historic districts to modern skyscrapers, that gives the city its character. Understanding these elements helps us design cities that are not just places to live, but communities where people feel connected to the world around them. By applying the principles of art, music, and literature to city planning, we can create urban spaces that are functional and beautiful. Spaces that don’t just meet the needs of their residents, but also inspire and enrich their lives. This approach is key to building cities that are sustainable, vibrant, and full of life. #UrbanDesign #CityPlanning #ArtAndCities #MusicAndUrbanLife #UrbanDevelopment #SustainableCities #CommunityBuilding #KAFD
