🌱 Exciting times ahead! We had a fantastic debate with Tilt Collective, and we’re eager to continue our partnership in pursuit of a healthier and more sustainable food system for everyone. Sarah Lake from Tilt Collective highlighted key issues: "We can only win if this works for farmers. Collaboration between the private and public sectors is essential for driving meaningful policy change. Companies play a pivotal role in promoting plant-based systems. When they offer plant-based options, consumers start to embrace them"! The challenge lies in accessibility and affordability, but as companies start to incentivize these offerings, consumers are ready to jump in! Together, we can make a difference! 💚🥦 #SustainableEating #PlantBasedFuture #PartnershipForChange #AmbitionLoop #FoodSystems #SustainableLiving #HealthyChoices #CollaborationIsKey #BetterFoodChoices #SupportFarmers

A council suggested people try plant milk. The backlash? Absolute outrage. 🤬 What is going on?? The news in brief: Last week Gloucester Council published 30 tips to help residents live more sustainably. They're all 'easy swaps' - things like: • Buying refurbished tech • Trying a local veg box • Walking to school One of them was for "those considering a vegan diet to think about alternative milks or to drink tea and coffee black occasionally." Radical stuff, eh? Apparently so... The council was put back swiftly in its box by furious campaigners and have published a 'clarification': "We didn’t mean to cause offence or to suggest people shouldn't support their local farmer". The tip was deleted in under a week. 😳 On one level this feels petty enough to laugh off. But for those of us who work on communicating sustainability and inspiring change, there's loads to think about here. • How do we take the heat out of issues like this? • How do we work with farmers, rather than clashing? • Why is food so divisive and how do we find common ground? The council suggested buying second-hand clothes too, but clothes shops didn't complain. • How can councils feel confident that they can support their residents without fear of reprisals? ...and so much more. Our work at Hubbub is all about the positive benefits of sustainable choices - things like saving money, and bringing people together. Navigating issues like this, and bringing everyone along, is going to be a crucial skill over the coming years. If you need help with it, you know where to find us! 😉 ++ P.S. Follow me - Alex Robinson - for insights on environmental change, leadership and more. I'm CEO of environmental charity Hubbub. We create campaigns with business, government and civil society that inspire environmental action. #environment #sustainability #CultureWars #SustainableDiets

Service Week 9 highlights :Empowering Communities for Sustainable Development 🌱💧 This week, I continued engaging with community members through impactful initiatives aimed at combating malnutrition and promoting hygiene and sanitation. By building vegetable kitchen gardens, cloth-lines, and plate racks to conducting soap-making training, we focused on practical solutions for healthier living.👌 The soap-making training, in particular, stands out as a potential business idea, empowering the community with skills for both hygiene improvement and income generation. 🌱Our purposeful saving initiative also gained momentum, laying a foundation for long-term sustainability and self-reliance. Together, we’re creating pathways for a thriving future. 💪✨ #ThisIsCorpsAfrica #CommunityEmpowerment #SustainableDevelopment CorpsAfrica CorpsAfrica/Rwanda Musanze District
