Quick grant proposal/writing insight for federal grants: keep it simple and check the boxes! If you can't check the box, don't try to finesse the question. Figure out what you need to do to be able to honestly check the box. There is so much federal funding available and yet I talk to people who aren't using it or can't get it. All of the federal grants I have seen lately have very explicit scoring criteria. Rather than feeling constrained by the process, be grateful that the grantor is telling you exactly what they want. And give it to them.

Nonprofit Founders Club, Nonprofit Nation Fundraising Success Roadmap, Author, Fundraising Mentor/Guide help you implement your fundraising strategies.
A part of being grant-ready means having certain documents ready for your organization. Here is a list to get you started. 👉Some of the Documents You Need👈 ✔️ Organization’s IRS 501c3 determination letter ✔️Any registration/certification required by your state ✔️Organization budget – current and upcoming fiscal years ✔️Audited financial statements – last 2 years if available (Some Foundations will take an Independent Accounting Review if your budget is under $250,000). ✔️Most recent IRS Form 990 ✔️Board of directors list: Names, affiliations, responsibilities ✔️Documentation of support from your board of directors; i.e., what percentage of your board contributes funds to support the organization? (Ideally, 100% of the board should financially support your organization.) Often Foundations will ask for the Board list and ask that the Board of Directors' support is notated on the list. ✔️Organization chart ✔️Newsletters (if available) ✔️Published articles highlighting your organization (if available) ✔️Criteria for board selection #grants #grantfunding #grantready Want a comprehensive list? What a great combination! This workshop topic is always relevant, and Alexandra Schuppert, MBA and Lynn Arsenault McGinnity, MBA are among the grant professionals to whom I most often refer folks. Join if you can!
***FREE ONLINE WORKSHOP this Wed. 7/10 @12pm*** Congratulations - you submitted a grant proposal that was awarded! But now what? Now it's time to steward that funder, meet reporting requirements, and ensure you're building a lasting relationship (that could potentially lead to more funding). Grant reports can be overwhelming and often take as much time to write as the proposal itself. Join me and Lynn Arsenault of LMA Grant Consulting on Wednesday, July 10 at 12-1pm EST as we explore how to put your best foot forward in grant reports. We will also talk about how to write a strong evaluation and outcomes section in your proposal which will ultimately facilitate your ability to report on your results. You can register here: https://lnkd.in/e99V_CRd

5 tips on how to write a good grant application 1. Do thorough research on the granting organization to ensure that your project aligns with their mission and goals. 2. Make sure to include all of the relevant information and documents that are requested in the grant application. 3. Make sure to clearly explain how the grant funds will be used and what the expected outcomes will be. 4. Focus on the impact that the project will have, rather than its features. 5. Proofread the application multiple times to make sure there are no errors or typos. If you need guidance with any of these aspects ,let's have a free call to iron them out ! https://lnkd.in/eaA9k-WR
