😷🌍 Throughout the past month, four states, including Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, confirmed measles cases, indicating a potential outbreak and sparking concerns about vaccination rates. According to a news release published by the Philadelphia Department of Public Health on January 16, 2023, the measles outbreak began in Philadelphia in early December. The health department listed multiple locations where people may have been exposed, including Jefferson Health, Multicultural Education Station Day Care, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Emergency Department (ED), Nemours Hospital, St. Christopher's Hospital for Children ED and Inpatient Unit 5 North, Nazareth Hospital ED, Holy Redeemer Pediatric Urgent Care Meadowbrook, and Jefferson Abington Hospital ED. Beyond cases reported in Pennsylvania, Delaware’s Department of Health identified one case in Nemours Children’s Hospital that may have resulted in up to 30 additional exposures. The New Jersey Department of Health identified an additional case. The Challenge of Long COVID in Children Families of children with long COVID face uncertainty about recovery and financial strain from healthcare costs. Many parents struggle to find doctors knowledgeable about long COVID, often facing dismissive or uninformed GPs. An expert highlights the need for better education and guidelines, as standard tests often miss conditions like POTS, common in long COVID patients. Delays in diagnosis can worsen outcomes. Despite evidence that vaccination reduces long COVID risk, Australia's strategy remains conservative. Experts stress better prevention, especially in schools. What has been done to the future generation can only be described as unconscionable and depraved. Why? Because parallels were drawn to ME/CFS in this document and others. Depriving children of forty years of evidenced based medicine has allowed for conversion from Asymptomatic Neurocognitive Impairment and the presentation of what are AIDS Defining Illnesses, Tuberculosis and Cryptosporidiosis, in children, and they are not observed in ME/CFS.
